They will keep getting hit so you keep fixing it until it blows up. Its better if their is more than 1 person in the tank or something. An EASY way to level up on Medic is stick with 1 or 2 people the whole match (I would consider squad members) and every time they die then heal them, every time they get hit they will automatically search for a health box so throw one out.
