Cheats for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for PS2

Forward+Square, Square, Square, Triangle, Circle (must have at least three bars of ki)

To get your Ki Guages up do the following.

1. Hold down x
2. While holding x press left 2 times, but on the 2nd time hold it down.
3. Keep it held down until it says 7 max (Hint:if you are a SS it doesn't go up 
all the way)

To prevent having your transformation reversed when your about to fall on the ground press R1 and you will do a backflip and your transformation will not be reversed!!

Complete the "Aim For Perfect Form" episode to unlock Yamcha.

Complete the "Vegeta's Confidence" episode to unlock Super Vegeta.

Play through "The Androids Saga" at any level to unlock Super Saiyan ability (Vegeta only).

Win a World Match Tournament at the "Adept" level to unlock Hercule.

Defeat Recoome with Vegeta.

Complete the "Aim For Perfect Form" episode to unlock Android #16.

Once you have the breakthrogh capsule for everyone and you collect the dragonballs again, you can't call Shenron. The only good use of the dragonballs you last collected is for trading.

Get Gt. Saiyaman. start punching and kicking your opponent. then use justice punch. As soon as your opponent gets up use justice punch. Usualy it will kick your opponent out of the ring with no problem.

After collecting all the dragon balls you will get to choose a character to get breakthrough. Breakthrough is a capsule that allows a character to use all their attacks. When you have this choice pick the character that you think has the strongest attacks. If you are not happy with your choice just turn off your game and turn it back on because before the game gives you your choices it automatically saves.

For the easiest transformations, enter the options screen. Select the controller option then move over to "Custom". Hold L1 and press Left or Right until you see P + K + G (the transformation buttons). You will now have L1 as a transformation button. Note: You can do the same thing with taunts; just press Left or Right or left until you find P K G E. To transform with any character easier, press L1 + X. Your character will instantly transform into a stronger character.

An easy way to beat the advanced tournament is with Kid Gohan. Dash and then press R1 and he will do a sor of drill kick he recovers quickly from. Not only does it reach far but it knocks the enemy back a lot, doing this in succesion (like 3 times) will knock the enemy out of the ring!

An easy way to unlock Hercule, is to use the Viral Heart Disease Capsule on Adept mode, in the World Tournament. Now, if you use it alone you will lose health too. So, you have to go to Mr. Popo's Skill Shop on Edit Skills and buy the Vaccine. The Vaccine is in the Support section, so you will have to buy Support a few times. About the fourth time you buy Support, it is the Vaccine. The Vaccine allows you to keep your health when you have the Viral Heart Disease, But sorry for your opponent. Then attach the Vaccine to anyone you want and BE SURE NOT TO FORGET TO PUT THE DISEASE ON THE PERSON TOO!! Well, then you just go to the World Tournament on Adept mode. BE SURE TO PUT YOUR CHARACTER ON CUSTOM! Your opponent will keep on losing health. But, when they have about half of their health left on the red bar, the disease stops. So you will have to kill them the old fashion way. So have loads of fun!

When in battle with Android 19, you know,(of course) that your health rapidly drops constantly until you get about 1/2 of you last health bar, then it stops. The thing is, when the Android hurts you, the damage done by the disease is added to the damage done to you. The best thing to do is to use a guerilla warfare like tactic and hit'n'run. Hope that this may help ya'!

While going thtough the people to change the capsules they have, if you move the anolog stick, the person or alien will rotate in that direction. This is entertaining if you are bored.

All you have to do is pick Freza or Gt. Sayiaman and press up and X the same time. You then will disappaer and reappear. Good for when you are in the edge.

Get the Super Saiyan ability, then press R1 + R2 to transform. This can be used for anyone's type of transformation. Note: This can also be used to do the King Kai Fist and Unlock Potential.

Go to Namek or any other place exept the Hyperbolic Timechamber and The world Martial Arts Tournament with trunks and use burning attack, Goku and Cell with spirit bomb,Hercule with Presant for you, Vegeta with Big Bang attack, Teen Gohan with Super Kamehameha, and Piccolo with Hellzone Grenade.

To get lots o' money and be able to win easier. (in torunament mode)All you have to do is equip Viral Heart disease and Vaccine and thats it.

Android 17: Power Strike

You can unlock Super Vegeta when you complete the "Vegeta's Confidence" episode.

You can unlock Zarbon when you complete the "Vegeta's Attack" episode.

Play through "The Namek Saga" at any level.

Play in Novice mode and become number one. Go to Mister Popo. You will see a gray Capsule for 8000 Zenie. It is Adept mode.

Once you have completed story mode once, you will notice that there are some people missing, except for Gohan as a super hero and Hercule who get unlocked in world championship mode. Go back to story mode and you will see what you have done instead of starting a new story. Some of the episodes will have "New" beside them. Go into those episodes to get new players and new player abilities, such as a Super Saiyan for Vegeta.

After you complete the story mode you will be able to go back and do new missions in the three different sagas to unlock characters and items. After you do the new missions for each saga (can be done randomly), another mission opens where the story from the cartoon and game is changed. In the Saiyan Saga, you play as Vegeta and take on the Z Fighters. After Vegeta defeats each of them he turns Super Saiyan. In the Namek Saga, you play as Frieza and once again take on the Z Fighters. Once they are defeated Freeza, will use the Dragonballs and ask to be invincible. His wish is granted and he destroys Namek and then goes after Earth. In the Android Saga, you play as Cell. After absorbing Android 17, Cell goes after Android 18. He will try to absorb her but Krillin will jump in the way and be absorbed instead. Cell will become a hilarious fusion between the two. He will then take on Yamcha. After the fight, Tien goes to blast him but Cell suddenly wakes up from a dream. He is in his Perfect form waiting for the Cell Games.

You can unlock trunks when you complete the "Perfect Form Cell Complete" episode

You can unlock #16 when you complete the "Aim For Perfect Form" Episode.

This has no purpose other than a laugh, and will not unlock anything in the game. Enter practice mode (or two-player duel if you want to play with a friend) and choose your characters and stage. When the fight starts, put as much distance between you and your opponent as possible. If in practice mode, set the opponent's action to Deflect-Back at the pause menu. Once you are as far away as desired, launch an energy ball by pressing Circle. In practice mode, your opponent should knock it back at you. Just before the ball hits you, press guard (X) and if it timed correctly, it should be reflected back at the opponent. In a two player match, you can play it like a proper game. For example, flip a coin to see who serves (launches the energy blast). Set a score limit. If the Ki ball is knocked away, hits, or is hit by another Ki blast, whoever reflected the ball last gets the point.

On world championship mode, if you win you get 10,000 Zenie and second place gets you 5,000 Zenie. This is useful because when you go to the shop and buy the Red Capsule, you will get some very good moves such as Super Saiyan Trunks, Kamahamaha for Krillen, and even Super Saiyan Level 2 for Gohan.

2. A Mutually Deadly Foe: You fight Radditz as Piccolo instead of Goku.
3 .Saiyan Attack: You fight Saibamen and Nappa as Piccolo.
7. Vegeta Saiyan Prince: You fight through Goku, Krillin, and Gohan as Vegeta and see what would happen if Vegeta defeated them all. 

This works with every character. If you are dashing toward your opponent at full speed and they fire a normal ki blast at you, your character will automatically swat it aside without slowing down or stopping.

Defeat Cell in story mode to unlock Cell.

Defeat Vegeta in story mode to unlock him.

Defeat Nappa in story mode to unlock him.

Successfully complete the world tournament in advanced mode to unlock Great Saiyaman.
