Zynga Announces FarmVille 2, Zynga With Friends, and The Ville

FarmVille 2: Farm Harder

The makers of the Facebook phenomenon FarmVille have been busy of late, perhaps because its stock price began to flounder back in April. The results arrive today, as they have revealed three new titles – each more social than the last.

FarmVille 2 will be stampeding onto Facebook over three years after the original was released, complete with a totally revamped engine and more detailed, rotating 3D graphics. The gameplay and social aspects will also be improved, according to Zynga’s chief technology officer Cadir Lee. “The game also has more social elements and a lot more crafting: the crops that you harvest are what you use in the game to make things which you then use to make other things, like on a natural farm,” says Lee.

In addition to this, Zynga has announced its own social network: Zynga With Friends. Zynga’s social network will focus on gaming and multi-platform access, being available through Facebook, Google+, iOS, or Android. The developer has also come up with its own API, allowing others to adapt their own games to Zynga With Friends. Majesco, Konami, and Atari have already signed up, among others. Members of the network will enjoy such features as activity feeds, a sparkly new chat interface, and multiplayer leaderboards.

Just in case that wasn’t enough to wow shareholders, Zynga has also announced The Ville. This game, based on Yoville, is speculated to be the company’s “most social game to-date.” Players of this title may be reminded of The Sims as they build a home for themselves and use it to host parties for their friends, all to build up their “happiness meter.” Some people might also be interested in the fact that The Ville will feature virtual sex. Apparently, once two players become very good friends, they will begin to undress and little hearts will appear over the bed.

According to the Facebook page, FarmVille 2 is coming “soon,” while The Ville appears to be coming very soon, and Zynga With Friends is already up and running.
