Fruit Ninja (also Fruit Ninja HD) turns your finger into the ultimate fruit-killing samurai sword. By swiping your finger back and forth, you slice and dice a wide array of fruits into itty-bitty bits. But be careful! There are bombs and grenades that will explode if you chop them. And better yet, you can get more points if you slice more things with a single swipe... making the possibility of hitting a bomb possible. Swing fast and focused and you'll score big.
In newer versions of the game, there is "Zen Mode", which let's you slice without consequence - no bombs are tossed up. Zen mode lets you focus on getting the most fruit with minimal swipes. Arcade mode gives you a 60 second time limit to score as many points as possible. There are also new achievements and trophies to challenge you in several different and unique ways.
Fruit Ninja's popularity increased rapidly after release. Within three months of it's initial iOS release, it sold more than a million copies. And currently has total downloads for all platforms (iOS, Android, and Windows), including the free versions, of over 20 million! That many people can't be wrong. It's a fun game that any age can play - especially if you have whole fruit in one piece.
