All published and official codes as of Saturday May 18, 2013 for Guitar Hero II are shown below. We also have this game on PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and sometimes tricks from other game systems will also work on PlayStation 2.
Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red, Orange, Yellow, Red. Keep tapping Yellow, Red at the end until it activates.
At the main menu press Blue, Orange, Orange, Blue, Orange, Orange, Blue, Orange, Orange, Blue.
At main menu press yellow, yellow, blue, orange, yellow, blue.
Orange, Blue, Orange, Blue, Orange, Yellow.
Press Yellow, Yellow, Blue, Yellow, Yellow, Orange, Yellow, Yellow at the main menu. Everything disappears except for the performance.
On the Main Menu, quickly press: Orange, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Orange, Yellow. A confirmation will pop up to say that the code was enabled. to DISABLE:re-enter code. Another screen will pop-up to confirm this as well.
On the Main Menu, quickly press: Orange, Blue, Yellow, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Yellow, Yellow. a Confirmation will pop up to say that the code is enabled. to Disable: enter code again.
On the main menu, (career, quik play, etc.) quickly press the following buttons on the neck of the guitar: Blue, Orange, Yellow, Orange, Yellow, Orange, Blue. A confirmation screen will pop up stating that the code is enabled. To disable simply enter the same buttons again.
At the main menu, quickly press Orange, Yellow, Orange(2), Yellow, Orange, Yellow(2). If you entered the code correctly, a message will appear. Repeat this code to disable its effect.
If you get 100% notes hit on any song, you will have five gold stars when you finish. It's hard, but it's do-able.
Hit every note in a song but strum an extra time whenever you get a 4x multiplier.
Did you know that if you are holding one of the notes that are long, they will not count it as a ROCK BOOSTER until you finish the note.
Free Bird is very hard but if know how to use the controller its pretty easy. I use a guitar on it I failed every time. When i got use too using a controller i got a 99% on it. Its kinda easy and yet kinda hard. Good luck. Your gonna need it.
Think only the grim ripper can hold the scythe well your wrong. To have any other character hold the scythe you must have that characters alternate costume. First you choose the ripper, than switch to the other character. The scythe will be available as a guitar.
Grim Ripper is for sale in the store for $6000 (under character section).
Clive Winston is for sale in the store for $3000 (under the character section).
Xavier Stone is for sale in the store for $3000 (under the character section).
to unlock the hammer-ons and pull-offs in the training simulation, you must beat BOTH tutorials that are available to you then go back to training and you will learn how to do hammer-ons and pull-offs, this is good for people who keep on getting 3 stars on hard and expert modes.
Hold down the deepest note out of the two you are playing. Hit that the first time you are supposed to play it. Then, every other note, hit the higher button. However, after pressing the higher note, release it, and it will be counted as a pull off. You will hit more notes than by trying to alternate which button is held down.
In order to get a BONUS song, you MUST get a Perfect Ranking on ANY song to get the BONUS song for that ranking. For example: the first set includes Mother, Shout at the Devil, etc. In order to get the bonus song for THAT SPECIFIC GROUP, you must get a Perfect ranking; no mess- ups, which means that you mst hit every note.
Complete medium mode.
Complete expert mode.
GIBSON SG BASS (black) - beat 10 songs GIBSON GRABBER - Beat 20 Songs GIBSON THUNDERBIRD - Beat 30 Songs GIBSON LES PAUL AND SKIN - Beat 40 Songs HOFNER BASS - Beat every song LAVA PEARL MUSICMAN STINGRAY - Get 5 stars on at least 10 songs CREAM SG - Get 5 stars on 20 songs NATURAL SUNBURST GIBSON THUNDERBIRD BASS - Get 5 stars on every co-op mode song (Bonus songs) NATURAL MAPLE GIBSON GRABBER BASS - Get 4 stars on all co-op mode songs.
You must achieve 5-stars in every songs on medium.
You must achieve 5-stars in every songs on easy.
Complete easy mode.
You must achieve 5-stars in every songs on hard.
Complete expert mode.
You must achieve 5-stars in every songs on expert.
The Grim Ripper has 2 guitars, but it only lets you choose 1! This is how you get to use the second guitar, it's pretty easy. Pick the Grim Ripper as your character on career mode then go to the screen where you choose your band. Go back to your band and look at the profile at the top of the screen. It should say "The Grim Ripper playing the Les Paul cherry sunburst" DON'T go to change guitar otherwise it will go back to the Scythe. This only works in career more.
You can play as the Grim Ripper and have it every time or just beat the entire game and buy all bonus songs and beat all of em on each difficulty, that also means Jordan needs five stars.
You must complete Medium.
While in career mode, play at least 100 notes in a row in every song in the career!
Successfully complete the indicated number of songs in Co-Op mode to unlock the corresponding bass at the shop for Co-Op mode:
Gibson Grabber: 20 songs Gibson SG: 10 songs Gibson Thunderbird: 30 songs Lava Pear Musician Stingray: 21 songs with a five star rank on the Hard difficulty setting
Successfully complete the game on the Medium difficulty setting to unlock Pro Face-Off mode. This mode allows two players to play all the notes.

Complete Expert Mode
Complete Easy Mode
You must achieve 5-Star every song on Medium
You must achieve 5-Star every song on Easy
