Based on the Japanese animated television series (airing in the U.S. on the Cartoon Network at the time of the game's release), this GBA adventure has young gamers playing as Hamtaro and Bijou, to interact with the other hamsters and keep their friendships from falling apart. A mean old hamster named Spat is causing trouble, telling lies, and tricking the Ham-Ham friends into quibbling and fighting with one another. Hamtaro and Bijou must learn as many as 80 different Ham-Chat words and dance steps, to talk to the other Ham-Hams and solve riddles that will mend friendships. Other features include the ability to swap "Ham-Jam" dance routines with another player, through a link cable connection, and to play dress-up with Hamtaro and Bijou in the clubhouse, where they can try on different outfits they purchase with sunflower seeds, and even take snapshots in of themselves in costume.
