Play As Hazmat
Complete Iron Man's Short Arcade mode to unlock Hazmat at the Comic Shop for $8,000.
Play As Iron Man
Complete Wolverine's Long storyline to unlock Iron Man at the Comic Shop for $9,000.
Play As Non-flaming Human Torch
Complete Human Torch's Medium storyline to unlock his non-flaming costume at the Comic Shop for $5,000.
Play As Paragon
Complete Hazmat's long story line to unlock Paragon at the shop.
Play As The Thing
In the European version, complete Wolverine's Medium storyline to unlock The Thing at the Comic Shop for $6,000.
Play As The Wink
Complete Electra's Short storyline to unlock The Wink at the Comic Shop for $7,000.
Negative Zone Area
Complete Human Torch's Long storyline to unlock the Negative Zone at the Comic Shop for $9,900.
Alternate Costumes
Complete a character's Short storyline to unlock his or her first alternate costume. Complete a character's Medium storyline to unlock his or her second alternate costume.
Finishing Move
When in Arcade or Play Now mode, you can finish your opponent off with an awesome finishing move. Get your opponent's health down very low, until the two "fists, webs, electric balls, syths, etc." on the touchscreen are blinking. Hit the one that is blinking, then follow up by hitting the other one (only once). You should see your character killing your opponent in a red haze. Note: This trick may not work on some of the characters, but is effective against Elektra, Dare Devil, Human Torch, and Spider-Man.
Danger Zone: Easy Win
When playing at the Danger Zone level, a person can walk through the big "4" into the Danger Zone. Once in the Danger Zone, if a character throws their opponent off the cliff towards the screen, that person will be dealt damage then respawn and be launched off the cliff again; taking more damage. This will continue to happen until the character is dead. It makes for an easy win. However, you must break the crystals at the edge of the cliff closest to the screen when you appear in the Danger Zone. Throwing your opponent at them usually does the trick.
Special
To do your special all you have to do is touch the screen when the two corners are blinking.
