Unlockables & Awards
Zuo Ci
Finish all four Story modes.
Azai Nagamasa
Successfully complete Stage 6 in Wei Story mode.
Cao Cao
Successfully complete Stage 7 in Wei Story mode.
Da Ji
Successfully complete all stages in the game, including the Gaiden stages.
Da Qiao
Meet Da Qiao before the enemy does in Wu Story mode in Gaiden 5.
Dian Wei
Successfully complete Stage 7 in Wei Story mode.
Dong Zhuo
Play SW 4-X Battle Of Si Shui Gate. Kill all the Supply Captains before they get to Dong Zhuo. The first appears at the center-north base. The second appears in the center-west base. The third appears center-north accompanied by Lu Bu. After you kill all the Supply Captains, Dong Zhuo will rebel. Successfully complete the level to unlock him.
Fuuma Kotaro
Defeat him after all supply troops have reached your HQ in Wu Story mode in Gaiden 2.
Gan Ning
Successfully complete Stage 6 in Wei Story mode.
Guan Ping
Successfully complete Stage 1 in Sengoku Story mode.
Guan Yu
Successfully complete Stage 7 in Shu Story mode.
Honda Tadakatsu
Impress him in all Story modes in Gaiden 7. You must meet the following condition to impress him. For SW Stage X7, you must lead the messenger to the escape point and defeat Lu Bu. Wait for reinforcement and do not allow a single ally (outside of yellow allies) to die. After the reinforcements arrive, defeat Date Masamune. For Shu Stage X7, all of the peasants must survive and escape. You must also defeat Lu Bu's ambush and ensure that Honda Tadakatsu survives the fight. In Wei Stage X7, you must rescue the two isolated yellow generals in the lower part of the map. No yellow officers can die. After Honda Tadakatsu arrives, defeat Lu Bu. In Wu Stage X7, defeat Honda Tadakatsu at the altar. When your allies reach his main camp, he will reappear in Powered mode. You must defeat him in two minutes when he reappears. Then, defeat Date Masamune and Dong Zhuo. You will unlock him after the fourth time you have impressed him.
Huang Gai
Successfully complete Stage 5 in Wei Story mode.
Huang Zhong
Successfully complete Stage 1 in Sengoku Story mode.
Imagawa Yoshimoto
Prevent all ploy troops from entering the village in Wei Story mode in Gaiden 4.
Inahime
Successfully complete Stage 5 in Wu Story mode.
Ishida Mitsunari
Successfully complete Stage 2 in Wei Story mode.
Ishikawa Goemon
Play Stage X4 in Shu Story mode. You must to break all of his treasury boxes. They look like expensive blue and yellow boxes. They are all in the middle and upper part of the map. It is best done on horseback. Most of the time a miscreant will appear if you are near a box, so look around. However, you cannot confirm if you broke all the boxes until the end of the stage. If Ishikawa Goemon does not join you at the end, it means you missed some boxes.
Jiang Wei
Succeed in initiating Jiang Wei's ambush plan in Shu Story mode in Gaiden 2.
Kunoichi
Successfully escort all peasants in Wu Story mode in Gaiden 4.
Lady Nôh
Play Stage X3 in Wu Story mode. Defeat all of the messengers and do not let them escape. You will know if you have been successful when Date Masamune arrives and he says "Where is everybody?" Doing this on horseback with a strong character is recommended. Note: Do not use Oda Nobunaga for this task.
Ling Tong
Successfully complete Stage 5 in Sengoku Story mode.
Liu Bei
Successfully complete Stage 8 in Shu Story mode.
Lu Bu
Impress Lu Bu by defeating him in all Story modes in Gaiden 8.
Lu Meng
Successfully complete Stage 3 in Wu Story mode.
Lu Xun
Successfully escort Lu Xun to your HQ in Sengoku Story mode in Gaiden 3.
Ma Chao
Make sure that all peasants escape and Ma Chao survives in Sengoku Story mode in Gaiden 2.
Maeda Keiji
Play Stage X6 in Wu Story mode. Lead all the reinforcements that came with the sound of the drum near the main camp of Keiji until there are ten minutes remaining. You need to do this in less then twenty minutes. At the begining of the stage, it is wise to clear some officers out of the way to quicken the march of your allies. Stay near the drum in you main camp so you can call your allies faster when Lu Meng tells you there are allies nearby. Watch out for Imagawa Yoshimoto as he will only follow you. If you keep going from one place to another, there is a good chance he will stall into a fight and you will lose time. Lead him to the camp and he will stop following you.

Successfully complete Stage 4 in Shu Story mode.
Miyamoto Musashi
Successfully open the dam and keep all the yellow swordsmen alive in Shu Story mode in Gaiden 6.
Mori Ranmaru
Successfully complete Stage 1 in Wu Story mode.

Defeat the two Nene clones within 4 minutes after their appearances in Wei Story mode in Gaiden 3.
