(Page 1 of ) AOE3 WAR CHIEFS EXPANSION WALKTHROUGH GENERAL STUFF : by MagicManWF *It took me a month to write this, I will not be revising it or whatever, if you want to - go for it, just include who the original author was (me). Any comments can be sent to : magicmanwf@gmail.com *I might do a walkthrough for the Asian Dynasties expansion that comes out on Oct 23 2007, comments about how I could better describe things, etc would be useful, but remember I will not be rewriting this one *there might be a few spelling errors and a few minor content errors .......so what.....lol *this was written in Sep 2007, a year after War Chiefs came out, I couldn't find a Walkthrough anywhere, so I made one *there are 2 "Acts" in the game, Act 1 has 8 maps, Act 2 has 7 maps *I tried each map at least 2 or 3 times, tried everything possible on every map that I could think of, the way I describe each map is simply the best way I could figure out how to do it, getting as much experience (and therefore Cards) as possible, completing ALL objectives, and doing as much damage as possible *This guide is for winning through strategy without using cheat codes, but you will still be quite challenged without "cheating" even though this guide makes it easier. *Here are some cheat codes, I use them only occasionally to try a difficult map, or just out of frustration, but then I always go back and find a way to do the map without cheat codes ^Hit "enter" key to enter chat mode and type : (I usually just use these 3) ^10,000 Food : medium rare please ^10,000 Wood :(type it just like that with ) ^10,000 Coin : give me liberty or give me coin (occasionally when extremely frustrated I will use this one) ^Create Killer Monster Truck : tuck tuck tuck (these I never use) ^10,000 experience points : nova & orion ^100x gather/build rates : speed always wins (works for enemy too) ^disable fog of war : x marks the spot ^win scenario : this is too hard ^create one Mediocre Bombard that launches rodents : ya gotta make do with what ya got ^"Musketeered" when killed by Musketeers : sooo good *HOTKEYS : GROUP villagers, etc : shift and number key or ctrl and number key PAUSE GAME : pause key (upper right of your keyboard) CHAT LOG :(what the characters said etc) : page up +page down+ end keys IDLE VILLAGERS : period . button DELETE button : delete a soldier/villager/building etc *PAUSE THE GAME A LOT (do as much as you can while the game is paused......assign groups, tasks etc) *SAVE THE GAME A LOT....some attacks/battles are random, so if you reload the game and try it again, it may work out better the second time .......pause the game THEN save it, so when you load a game things arent automatically happening *"HEROES" : the "heroes" have special abilities, use them constantly also, "heroes" cannot die, but they do "pass out" (and when they do they take a long time to "wake up" so avoid this) *CAMPAIGN MENU : once you install the War Chiefs expansion, you'll notice that on the Single Player/Campaign Menu, there's two choices : Blood, Ice, and Steel is the regular AOE3 game, and Fire and Shadow is the War Chiefs game. *For the "directionally impaired", I use compass directions a lot : North is up, Northeast is up and to the right, Northwest is up and to the left East is right, West is Left South is down, SouthEast is down and to the right, SouthWest is down and to the left.....now dont go trying to find your way in the woods.....lol ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 1 MAP1 : WAR DANCE Primary Objectives : *bring Nathaniel and Kanyenke to the Iroqouis village *task native villagers on the fire pit *destroy one enemy town center (another possible primary objective would be total annihilation!) Secondary Objectives : *gather 5 treasures -------------------------------------------- *starting out, Nathaniel and Kanyenke get attacked by a few negligible pests, fight them (no special abilities needed), and go right to the Iroqouis Oneida town center (don't they make kitchen utensils or something?)(first primary objective completed) *once you get control of the town center, group the 3 heroes (Nathaniel, Kanyenke, and Chief Wind Feather together (say group 9), group the fighters together (say group1)(starts you out with 3 Kanya Horseman and 8 Tomahawks) *the 4 villagers I would start them on the 2 already dead deer just left of the town center. Put one on the fire pit for like a second then have them hunt deer (second primary objective completed) ten more villagers show up. *Build 6 villagers right away, assign the first to the fire pit (keep the Fire Pit on the Fertility Dance mode for now). Build 10 more villagers as you get more food, for a total of 30 villagers, 10 working on each resource (hunting animals for food, chopping wood, and mining). *Also, be sure to build a Market right away and upgrade hunting dogs, lumber ceremony, and placer mines right away. *You might want to group your villagers in 3 groups (food, wood, and coin) since they have a tendency to just stand there like idiots. Also, don't forget the . period button shows you idle villagers. *Your next goal is to advance to the Fortress Age (need 1200 food and 1000 gold). Forest Prowlers arent available until the Fortress Age, and they are the best fighters on this map (in quantity). Horseman and Tomahawks die too quick (even upgraded). Make sure to keep an eye on your resource level and advance to the Fortress age ASAP. *you'll notice to your far right and far left is one tomahawk soldier, leave them there as scouts for early warning of your first 2 attacks. *send the heroes off right away to get all of the treasures south of the river(the one in the middle of the map). Have the Chief use his Nature Friendship on the treasure guardians, and add them to your fighter group (this only works on the first treasure guardian at each treasure, you have to kill the rest). Also, use the 3 heroes to kill off stray attackers as they get treasures. *with your first 3 cards, send for the 6 Tomahawks, the 5 Kanya Horseman, and the 5 tame bears and add them to your fighter group. *your first attack is from the left and is signalled by the lone Tomahawk on the far left getting killed. Move your fighters just to the left of the village and easily kill off the 2 horsemen. Now create just one Tomahawk (at a War Hut) to replace the one that died (replace him as needed), and have your fighters join the Tomahawk scout on the far right for the next attack. Stay on your side of the river for now, and your fighters will last longer. *if you have an enemy War Chief pass out in your camp, or anywhere away from your one group of fighters, either surround him with half a dozen Tomahawks or your 3 heroes, to give him a nice surprise when he wakes up *after like your 4th treasure, have your 3 heroes make a sweep back to camp, they will find a few pests to kill just to the upper left of your camp, then you want them to join up with the lone Tomahawk on the far left, and help him out for a minute. After fighting a few pests, get the treasure to your left. Have the 2 bears you get join your fighters way over on the right. *have your 3 heroes protect some of your villagers who may be outside of your village. *at this point, you should have more than enough to advance to the Fortress Age (choose The Chief who gives you one travois.....make this into a Siege Workshop...and 4 villagers.....have them dance around the fire pit (and have them do a war dance), and you should have a good size group of fighters ready for the next attack standing by on the far right. *your next attack will happen any second (on the far right)....a bunch of bears will attack your fighters, then some infantry and cavalry.....stay on your side of the river and you'll be fine. Any pests that get away can be dealt with by the 3 heroes. *as soon as you advance to the Fortress Age, have the Travois make the Siege Workshop, and build lots and lots of Forest Prowlers (hotkey is F). Once you can't fit any more fighters into your first group (who you want to keep on the far right), make a second group on the far left, then a third group to guard your village. *The max in a group is 50 units, so have 50 in groups 1 and 2, but only 20 or so in your 3rd group. Build a few more houses so you can have max (200) population. *send your group 2 to the far left to guard your side of the river there. Keep building Forest Prowlers to replenish you first 2 groups of fighters as regular attacks happen on both sides. The Forest Prowler's special ability Stealth Mode is kind of neat but doesnt really make much of a difference. Stay on your side of the river until later. *have your 3 heroes get the rest of the treasures on your side of the river (7 total), and you'll complete the secondary objective. *when your miners run out of mines to work on your side of the river, have them build a plantation. Do any upgrades there you can. Also, back at the market, do the Forest Spirit Ceremony upgrade for woodcutting. *as soon as you have 2400 coin (remember at your market you can sell wood for coin, and you have very little need for wood on this map, I started out with like 9000 wood, traded, left myself 1000 wood, and ended up with like 4000 coin) *build 8 falconets at your Siege Workshop, assign them in 2 groups of 4 (separate from the fighters as artillery will slow down a mixed group), and have 4 assist group 1, 4 assist group 2. (1 falconet is 5 units of population, so make sure you dont have more than 160 population before making them) *when your hunters run out of animals to hunt on your side of the river, send for a Farm Travois (using a card) and assign 7 villagers to farm, 3 to collect berries. You should have 2 sheep from one of the treasures, send them to the farm. Do all upgrades at the farm. You can also send for 4 more sheep with a card. *at the fire pit, change it to Holy Dance and it will make Medicine Men. Make 3 or 4 of them, and send them over to the far right to assist group 1 fighters. They will even heal falconets. Remember to switch it back to War Dance right after. *a good defensive strategy is to: stay on your side of the river, back your fighters up to your falconets so they are in range of the enemy but protected by the fighters. *attack the Seneca (orange....they are weaker than the Mohawk/red): have your 3 heroes protect the village, and send your smaller 3rd group of fighters to the far left where your 2nd group is. Have the 3rd group defend that side of your river like the second group has been, and send the 2nd group of 50 Forest Prowlers, along with their 4 falconets, north and attack everything BUT the Town Center. *(my strategy is to annihilate everything but the 2 Town Centers, THEN destroy one... max experience...and max annihilation). *Have the Falconets destroy buildings, and have the fighters protect the Falconets and attack anything that fires back, then anything that moves. (My offensive strategy). *If your fighters get down to about 20 units, back off and replenish them, once you have 50, go back to work. Also, try to keep at least 3 Falconets going for support/destruction. While this is going on, remember to keep at least 40 fighters on your far right to defend against the Mohawk attacks. (and keep those Medicine Men busy) *Keep the fighters and falconets focused by constant clicking on what you want them to destroy (NOT the town center), and once most of the Seneca village is destroyed back off the falconets and just use the fighters. *After everything appears gone (except the town center), do a sweep around the Seneca/upper left part of the map several times until all has quieted down. Kill the treasure guardians on this side while you are sweeping, then send your heroes to get the treasures. *Park your second group of fighters and their falconets in the middle of the map, just above the river (left side of where the two rivers meet). *I had a Seneca/Red War Chief "pass out" in the river on the far left, so now I have the 3 heroes guard him. Move your smaller group of fighters that was guarding there(far left) to relieve your first group(far right) *Replenish your first and second groups of fighters so they are both 50 strong, make sure all 8 falconets are fully healed (medicine men), etc *Attack the Mohawk(red) : move in group 1 and 4 falconets, destroy everything except for the Town Center, sweep the area for anything left behind, etc, have your heroes get the rest of the treasures, take out the Mohawk Town Center, you win! (Group 2 standing by just in case) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : you should have like 35k experience, and 6 new cards available, get all the fighters you can(5 cards/"town hall")and chest of 300 coin("general store") "build a deck" : a deck holds 20 cards, you should only have 18, don't worry about this ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACT 1 MAP 2 "The Rescue" Primary Objectives : *find and destroy one prisoner cage to rescue Native Villagers *destroy the prisoner cage holding Nonahkee Secondary Objectives : *build a Trading Post on the trading route (200 exp) --------------------------------------- *group your 3 heroes together (group 9 maybe), single out the medicine man and put him off to the far left/away from danger (assign to group 8), separate the falconet (assign to group 2/put over by medicine man), group all the fighters together (group 1) and SAVE!! *you start out with very little for resources, dont build anything, advance to the Fortress Age ASAP. Dont worry about treasures until later. *to your southeast is very strong opposition...stay away for now, send group 1 fighters and falconet north(northeast?), have the 3 heroes (group 9) defend your village. Be ready for steadily increasing attacks from the southeast. *Have group 1 and the falconet fight the Hessians/Germans(green) you'll find up north, then destroy a section of wall and RETREAT back to your village, have the medicine man heal everyone up. *use 2 cards to get fighters , add to your group 1 *send group 1 back up north, leave the falconet and the medicine man off to the left of your village, have the 3 heroes guard the village. (Whenever your not actively using your medicine man, send him off to the left, away from attacks) Keep the falconet hidden off to the left until later, its too valuable and vulnerable at this point. *have group one fight the guards around the first stockade, then destroy the stockade, (first primary objective completed) send the 5 villagers to your town center, handle an attack to the north of your village, including a falconet (kill it first), take care of them with groups 1 and 9 (use special abilites), then send groups 1 and 9 back to your village for healing *have the villagers collect the supplies, build a market, upgrade "hunting dogs" and "placer mines", then have them mine (you should have enough food to advance to the Fortress Age, but not enough Coin yet) (group them, group 7,be ready to garrison them in a hurry and protect them with the 3 heroes) *use 2 cards to get more fighters, add to group one, and use 1 card to get 2 villagers, (put them on the mine and add them to group 7), use a card to get bears (add them to group 1). *advance to Fortress Age ASAP, choose "The Chief" ( have the Travois build a Siege Workshop, have the 4 villagers hunt deer(group them, group 6). *save your game *have group one go north and destroy the buildings near the stockade you just destroyed (fight attackers first them destroy buildings). Then, have them go further north and destroy another stockade. Destroy the 2 tents, then have the freed villagers join group 6 and hunt food, escort them back to your village with your fighters. *Nathaniel thinks that you should go right now and get his Mom out of jail. Save your game and try it, you'll probably lose everything. Nonahkee's not be tortured or starved or anything, she'll be just fine while you build up a big enough army to totally annihilate everything, and she'll thank you when you do finally save her. *group 1 should be back in your village just in time for an attack from the south, take them out with groups 1 and 9 (use special abilities), then have the Medicine Man heal everyone. *your group 7 villagers should be done with their mine, have them chop wood until you have 800 wood, then build a plantation (close to your Town Center, its too dangerous to mine outside Town right now) *use a card to send for a Farm Travois, build a Farm, and have your group 6 villagers Farm it. Use another card to get 4 sheep. Use 2 more cards to get more fighters. *you now should have enough food to mass produce Forest Prowlers, make enough for 2 large groups (assign groups 1 and 3...50 units each....falconet is group 2) *save your game *be prepared for constant attacks from the south, and occasional attacks to the northside of your village, use groups 1 and 9 to guard your village, always destroy artillery first (falconets, war wagons, etc) then cavalry, then shooters. Always heal after every battle with your Medicine Man, and hide him off to the left when not using him, and especially during battles. *you should have 7 villagers on your plantation, 7 on your farm, and 4 sheep (assign 3 to the farm so they fatten faster, have the 4th stand close by) *use a card to send for 3 fishing boats (notice the bouy "Home City Water Flag" in the river near your village, they'll arrive here) *have group 3 (fighters) on your side of the river shoot the pests on the island just across the river, then have them go north just a bit and kill a red canoe, then have them stay by your War Hut, but be ready to protect the fishing boats. *When the fishing boats show up, have them hide around the bouy until your group 3 has eliminated the threats, then have them fish as close to the bouy as possible. Do NOT have them fish very far to the right/east there is a FORT there, have them fish north/left. *if your coin gets low, use your Market to trade so you have slightly more coin than food, and after you get more vilagers, remember that you can sell wood for coin, and the only things you need wood for are upgrades to your farm/plantation/market, and 100 for each falconet you will later build. *once group 1 has 50 fighters, and group 3 has at least 35, keep group 1 by your stable to defend, and send group 3 north to do some more damage (the south is still too well defended, get some more villagers first)(and keep building fighters) *have group 3 go to the top center of the map, kill enemy soldiers and villagers along the way, you'll find another stockade, kill the guards, sweep the area and kill any stray enemies or tents, etc before liberating the villagers from the stockade (assign them to group 5/have them chop wood in your village) *you'll discover a trading post and a secondary objective, leave the trading post alone for now, until later when you've destroyed most of the enemy, and you can spare some fighters to defend it *just below the trading post is another stockade, sweep the area/etc and liberate the villagers (add to group 5/chop wood) *just below that is a dock, destroy and stray canoes, etc then the dock (this will protect your fishing boats and claim the fishing) *you'll notice to your east is a fort, stay away from it for now, have group 3 return to your village and heal/replenish etc (keep your fishing boats away from that Fort!!) *build a dock by your bouy, and build a canoe/war canoe *have group 3 board the canoe and then disembark on the island, kill the guards, liberate the villagers (they will automatically collect all the supplies on the island), then have everyone board the canoe and have group 3 go back to the village/heal/replenish, and add the new villagers to group 5/chop wood *asap, upgrade Market "Lumber Ceremony"(then "Forest People Ceremony", Plantation "Earth Ceremony"(then "Earth Gift Ceremony), and Farm "Great Feast" (then "Harvest Ceremony")...don't bother with the sheep upgrade, your sheep should be fattened by now, have some farmers work them for some quick food. *with the additional villagers, you should be able to replenish your 2 fighting groups quickly, make sure you have at least 10 extra fighters, build some longhouses so you can support 200 population, and build like 7 falconets. (hopefully you still have your original Falconet, if not build 8, group separately....ex : 4 Falconets in group 2 assist Group 1 fighters, 4 Falconets in group 4 assist Group 3 fighters, etc) *now the fun part : send group 3/fighters and group 4/falconets down south and destroy everything green or red (defend falconets, kill artillery/cavalry/ shooters/villagers/buildings in that order), keep building fighters back in your village, keep group 1/fighters and group 2/falconets healed and fully stocked, add fighters to group 3 wherever they are currently fighting *add any new villagers to plantation/farm until you have the max of 10 at each, make sure you have at least 5 cutting wood, keep your boats busy fishing, and add any other villagers to your fire pit (have them do a Holy Dance to make a few more Medicine Men, than have them do a War Dance to increase damage inflicted) *destroy the fort by placing your falconets as far away as possible (on the corner not the side of the Fort), once the Fort is gone, your boats can fish wherever they want. *the enemy Town is northeast of where the fort was. You'll have to rebuild group 3/fighters and group 4 falconets several times as you destroy things. You can eliminate virtually everything except for the Stockade that Nonahkee is in without ending the map, then go get treasures and build trading posts (which give you experience and 1 villager every time the trading wagon passes). Oh yeah, then go save Nonahkee. Have fun!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buy New Cards : should have almost 90k experience, and 7 new cards to choose from no more fighters available at Town Hall until ACT2, so pick whatever Build a deck : you now have more than 20 cards, so you need to manage which 20 are in your primary deck. Cards are available according to what "age" you are in (Discovery/1, Colonial/2, Fortress/3, and Imperial/4), and also some maps only have some of those available. Make sure all fighters are available, then resources, then extras and upgrades. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 1 MAP 3 : "Breed's Hill" (Bunker Hill?) Primary Objectives : *Protect the redoubt on Breed's Hill ----------------------------------------------- *all you can really do here is defend the "redoubt" for 20 minutes, there are too many British soldiers coming at you to do anything else. I tried this map several times several different ways, but thats it *assign Natahniel to group 9, the fighters to group 1, have all villagers go as far north as they can (to stay out of harms way), have 7 hunt deer, 7 mine coin, 3 chop wood. At your market, upgrade "hunting dogs","lumber ceremony", and "placer mines". Keep your fighters and Nathaniel inside the "redoubt", fight from there. Theres a War Hut right next to your Town Center, research "Veteran Militia" and make as many as you can. Set the "Military Unit Gather Point" inside the "redoubt" * As you defend, you gain experience, use your cards to send for fighters/bears ....whatever you can, then maybe a few extra villagers. Your population limit starts out at 90, but as the British get control of the big cannons and destroy buildings, you will need to build a few houses (way north)so you can support enough fighters, etc. *dont bother trying to capture the big guns until later, the British will capture them both and start bombarding your buildings. *If you're lucky, you can get enough fighters that you can have 30 or so in the "redoubt" and send another 20 or so to capture the west cannon, so you can try to blow away the ships trying to decimate your town. Dont even bother trying to capture the right cannon too, its not worth it. *Use your market (hopefully it will stay standing)to trade as needed, the only thing you need wood for is to build houses. *20 minutes later, you're done......hmm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards? no new cards (I guess you have to totally annihilate to get enough experience for new/more cards) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 1 MAP 4 : "CROSSING THE DELAWARE" Primary Objectives : *Cross the Delaware and destroy the Hessian tents *Destroy Corwallis' Capitol in Trenton Secondary Objectives : *Destroy the British prison ships (500exp) *capture the cannon at the Hessian Garrison (500 exp) --------------------------------------- *you start out with 2 heroes and some fighters, group them all together (say group 1), hop in the boat, and get out a little north of where you are now (on the other side of the river would help). *this is a sneak night attack, the Hessian guards (theres about a dozen, stay clear), patrol in a counter-clockwise pattern, you can see them sometimes on the main map and the mini-map. Dont shoot anything except for tents for now, the only things that shoot back for now are the Hessian patrol and the Outpost Towers. *watch for guards, take out a (green)tent, and retreat.....repeat.......10 times. *save your game *now Washington wants Nathaniel to build 2 signal fires.....for now everthing is quiet...the guard has gone away, you can go anywhere you want in the town without being bothered....as soon as you build BOTH signal fires, an army comes down from the north with heavy cannons and everything (you cannot defeat them yet) and takes over the town (and Washington wants to to go north and defeat their "rear guard"....like 20 shooters that will probably destroy you now, so build up a bit before that while everything is nice and quiet?) ......dont build the signal fires yet, explore the map first *start in the lower right part of the map (see a white "x" for treasure?), just below/right from there on the edge of the map is another treasure where you can free a "Coureur de Bois" (a French Villager)....yeah only one villager, but hey times are hard ya know? You start out with 0 resources, but right across from where you rescue him are some supplies.(and no, he cant build a Town Center, so you're stuck, for now, with just him) *Also, way up in the upper left are some supplies just laying around. Have the villager mine coin, and have the rest of your guys explore the map. STAY AWAY from the upper right of the map.....and if you see any RED people (not dead people..lol) run before they see you. *Now is also a good opportunity to grab any treasures (except for ones right in the enemy/red camp)with your 2 heroes and fighters. *once you explore most of the map and get all the treasures you can, escort the villager to the upper left where all the supplies are laying around and have him pick them up. Then, go back down to the bottom right and have Nathaniel build a Trading Post, and have the villager build 2 houses, a War Hut, and a Market near the Trading Post, then have him chop wood. At your Market, upgrade "Lumber Ceremony" *build a Medicine Man at the Trading Post and have him heal your units. *don't worry about taking too long, the night never ends on this map, no matter what you do. *while exploring the map, you probably discovered (bottom center of map) some British soldiers, 2 ships, and a secondary objective. After your Medicine Man heals your untis, send them down to dispose of these pests and gain some more fighters. *have your villager build a dock where those ships were, chop some wood, build another house near your Trading Post, chop some more wood.... *upgrade "Gill nets" at the Dock, and build 2 or 3 fishing boats. While you're waiting, have one of your flat bottomed boats (from the beginning) explore the river, and try avoid the 2 Outpost towers on the bottom/left of the river, then have it meet up near your dock. *save your game *have your fighters board the boat, cross the river, and get off well below the bottom Outpost (and below the green wall/as far south as you can). Walk up to the green wall (and discover another secondary objective), dispose of the Hessian soldiers, and you'll gain a Falconet (cannon?) and some experience. Assign the Falconet to group 2, and let it bombard the Outpost and everything else within its area, then have it destroy the Outpost further north on that side of the river. *and wait...and wait.....you can have Nathaniel build one Signal Fire while you're waiting for you fishing boats to get started, etc.....just don't build both signal fires yet.....with a little patience, you can build like 10 more Veteran Militia before you have to attack the "rear guard". At your War Hut, upgrade to "Veteran Militia" as soon as you can, chop some more wood and build 2 houses so you can now support 50 population, then mine coin. You should be able to build like 20 additional Veteran Militia(or more, depending on how patient you are/how bored you get). *you should now have a force of 35 to 40 fighters, plus a Falconet....go have Nathaniel build those 2 signal fires, have him meet your troops by the Trading Post (stay away from the village as a huge army w/heavy cannon is about to take it over) *"reinforcements" will arrive ( 8 colonial militia and one surgeon, so now you have over 40 fighters and 2 healers), have them join the rest of your force by the Trading Post BEFORE both Signal Fires are built. *After those fires are built, send everyone (including villager and 2 healers, and your 2 cows which should be fattened by now.....just have them stay out of harms way) northeast to clean up the "rear guard". *Make sure your fishing boats are far away from the Outposts and Town Center, etc /out of harms way. *You'll gain control of a Town up where you clean up the "rear guard", let the villagers gather the supplies laying around, then have them mine gold (including your Courier de Bois), and build 6 more villagers and 25 Veteran Militia (assign them to group 3 and have them guard your buildings down by the trading post. If you lose those buildings, no big deal, you can rebuild the Market, etc up by your new village (you wont lose your upgrades), and your fishing boats don't need a dock to keep fishing *Have your next 6 villagers start with your 2 cows/then farm, then build 6 more and have them chop wood. *Upgrade things : at your Market "Hunting Dogs","Forest People Ceremony" (then "Forest Spirit ceremony"), "Placer Mines"......at your Trading Post "Huron Warrior Societies","Huron Fish Wedding", and "Huron Trade Dominance"(this one will give you free Huron Mantlets at your Town Center"....."Great Feast"(then Harvest Ceremony"then "Green Corn Ceremony") and "Selective Breeding" at your Farm. *You should have like 14 cards available, use them all *Defend your new town with 2 groups (max out the original group 1 to 50 units, another 50 fighters/group 4)....have group 1 stay just south of your stable, have group 4 stay to the west/left just south of one of your War Huts. With the houses you built earlier, you can now support 200 (max) population. Your cards should take care of maxing out groups 1 and 4 to 50, upgrade (War Hut) to "Guard Militia" and fill the rest of group 4 with them *Have group 1 get the remaining treasures up north during lulls in defensive fighting. *you should have 2 groups of 50 fighters (groups 1 and 4), and one group of 25 (group 3/guarding the Trading Post), a bunch of villagers, so your population should be around 165. *you can't advance to the next age (Industrial) in this map, so the best artillery are Culverins....build as many as you can (like 8) and add them to the Falconet in group 2 *and now for the "win" : keep group 4/fighters where they are (most of the attacks from Cornwallis/red come here and group 4 can handle them no problem), send group 1/fighters+heroes and group 2/artillery down to your Trading Post, and start your attack from the south. Just start clearing out enemy buildings and you'll be "greeted" by Corwallis(red)and Hessian/German(green) troops. Take out buildings that shoot at you first, then ones that produce military units (factory, etc), then whatever. Attack artillery first, then cavalry, then infantry, then villagers (and protect your artillery). Take out everything BUT the CAPITOL and save that for last (for max experience and fun)...Merry Christmas? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : should have 4 new cards available (no more fighters available until ACT 2, so get whatever you want. Build a Deck : just make sure you still have all available fighters in your primary deck, then villagers, then resources, extras, etc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 1 MAP 5 : "SARATOGA" Primary Objectives : *Destroy 3 british Fort wagons *race to build 3 forts before th British build 3 forts Secondary Objectives : *find Keuchlers' bridge (200exp) *destroy the bridge of boats to delay Keuchler's arrival (? exp?) ----------------------------------- *this is one of those maps where you race against the clock, so no total domination, etc *start out by having all available units stay where they are and wait for 3 wagons to come to them....and destroy them. *there are a few Native Scouts (yours/blue) scattered around the map, leave them where they are, they will help you see things later *after destroying the 3rd wagon, immediately have all units go south next to the visible Tin Mine(I thought Tin was an alloy, how do you mine it?....lol) , and reinforcements will appear ( a few villagers, a few more fighters, another falconet, and a Covered Wagon/Town Wagon) *have the Wagon make a Town center right next to the Tin Mine, have all the villagers hunt deer for a bit, group fighters/hero into group 1, group falconets into group 2. *build 3 forts? sounds impossible, but its a race for resources, your Town Center can actually build Fort Wagons for "only" 1000food/1000wood/and 1000coin....each *as soon as your Town center completes construction, you have 2 cards available, send for fishing boats (they will appear at your bouy/right side of the map) and some fighters. *save your game. *some more villagers also appear, have 3 of them go west into some caves and collect resources just laying around (theres no threat in the caves and about 4 or 5 different spots to collect stuff), then have them mine in the caves. The other new villagers, have them chop wood near your Town Center. *once your fishing boats arrive, put them to work immediately(just keep them away from south of where they start out/British Outposts, etc) *protect the villagers who are hunting deer, a small band of British will come shortly and kill them off if you're not on top of it. *after that little battle, send group1/fighters and group2/falconets back up to where you started (by that little creek).....there's 6 musketeers and a falconet.....take them out, then an Outpost will appear right near where the musketeers were, have your artillery take it out/protect artillery with group1. Then, take out the Outpost north of the Trading post, then take out the Trading Post. *by then, you should have a secondary objective (find Keuchlers' bridge), it's just to the right of trading post you just leveled. Have artillery take out the Outpost while group 1 cleans up the enemy fighters, then have all units destroy the bridge. Immediately after that, a small force MAY come from your left and attack. Take care of them, then retreat to where you first started (by the creek not your village). *pay attention to cards as they become available, send fighters/add to group 1 *keep your 3 villagers in the caves busy finding resource stashes, and keep your fishing boats busy and safe. *your next immediate goal is to advance to the Fortress Age. AS SOON as you have, for example, enough food (1200food for advance), switch all villagers not in the caves to MINING!! When you advance, choose "The Messenger" (ages up very fast, plus one Travois) *have the Travois make a Market (upgrade the usual "HuntingDogs/LumberCeremony/ Placer Mines", etc) *ASAP, make a Fort Wagon with your Town Center, and build that Fort *villagers : once the 3 villagers in the caves have collected all the stashes, have them mine inside the caves at one of the mines. The other villagers, have ALL of them working on whatever is needed the most to make 1000 of (food/wood/coin).....be careful having them hunt too far from your town center, its not safe (the berry bushes below your Town Center actually work pretty well) Also, for food, the fishing boats will take care of much of it, for coin, this map gives you 500 coin from Nathaniels family fortune every so often, but dont wait for just that for coin. *British Forts : the British will try and build a fort "by the river"..... just above where you are hanging out now/right where you started.....destroy it at all costs. Then retreat back across the creek to where you started and wait. Some of their fighters/artillery may fire at you, but they wont follow you across the creek. The next Fort they try to build will most likely be exactly in the same spot, so just have your group1 and 2 hang out where you first started. If the British try to "build a Fort in the North", let it be and just work harder to get you 3 forts built. *your Forts : build all 3 ASAP, and right next to your Town Center is fine. *when you build your 3 forts before they do, you win ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : no new cards (no total annihilation = little experience I guess) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACT 1 MAP 6 : "Valley Forge" Primary Objectives : *build 6 huts inside the camp *gather 3000 food Secondary Objectives : *Destroy the Outpost to open up the pass (300xp) *get the Food Cart back to Valley Forge (200xp) -------------------------------------------------------- *I guess its colder than it was at "Crossing The Delaware", because you have to keep everyone from freezing to death, at least starting out. *group all your Colonial Militia/hut builders in group 1, group the 2 heroes in group 9. Have group 1 chop wood as nearby as possible (you need 450 wood to build 6 "huts"(houses). Keep an eye on everyones health, have them warm up by a fire (which they do quickly)/chop wood/warm up/etc. *There are 3 clusters of tents/3 fires, have everyone stay near the upper fire (near the creek, build your houses there too) *Have the 2 heroes explore the nearby area, gather treasures (theres a villager you can save a little northwest of where you start out/across the creek, have her collect the resources lying around as you find them....and they must have really good long underwear because they dont get cold).....keep your heroes warm, too. *your 3 fires not only warm up your units, but heal them too (there will be a few small British Attacks occasionally). The other fires on the map don't do anything. *after you build your 6 huts, everyone apparently gets better long underwear, because you dont have to worry about anyone freezing *have the 2 heroes continue to gather treasures, have the villager continue to gather resources laying around. Keep your group 1 guys near the upper fire where you built your huts and have them defend your camp while they chop wood. Dont worry too much about losing tents, etc right now. *as you explore the map, you will encounter small random British patrols, by having group 1 stay back at the camp, you will lose less of them. Your heroes can regenerate, and are much stronger. Have your heroes eliminate any patrols, one group at a time, and send them back up to a fire to heal as needed. Dont let your heroes "pass out" - they take too long to "wake up", run away from a battle while you still can, heal, then finish the battle. *your next main goal is to get 3000 food *get food from the Bakers? You dont really need to, but if you want to try it, save your game, and have your 2 heroes head straight for the baker near the bottom/center of the map (the other baker has too much British around it). 600 coin isnt a lot, but I wouldn't waste it. You can get plenty of food other ways. *Remember that all wagons can be destroyed very quickly by the enemy, the route back from the baker can be very dangerous. *or, you can just have your 2 heroes explore more of the map (stay to the left), and you'll discover some more stuff laying around for your villager to gather. *You'll find/save a food wagon near the center of the map, escort it up to your camp and you'll get 1000 food + 200 experience(secondary objective) When you get to the Baker, you can make up to 6 Food Wagons (100 coin each, you have 600 coin, each wagon gives you 1000 food), escort it/them back to your camp. *There is an Outpost Wagon near the Southwest edge of your map (build an outpost just below the upper fire where your group 1 is gathered) *just to the left of the top/center of the map, there's an outpost you can destroy (secondary objective), have your 2 heroes take it down (heal them by the fire as needed), and a few more Colonial Militia will join you (these ones dont gather or build, just fight), add them to group 1/continue defending your camp with group 1. *there are 2 trading posts you can build (both on the left side of the map). #1 is near the bottom/edge/center of the map/off to the left just a bit. #2 is southwest/near the edge of the map/just above the first one. *if you build either Trading Post before you get your 3000 food, 3 villagers will automatically pop out from each one and collect some food. If you click on them right away, you can have them mine coin. Otherwise, they will just collect a little food and disappear. *Outposts : other than the Outpost wagon that you find, the only other Outposts you can build on this map can only be built by the villagers you get from the Trading Posts(French villagers from a Native American Trading Post?....hmm) Also, you cannot upgrade Outposts on this map, so build at least 2 together wherever you you build any. Outposts dont really make a big difference, on this map anyway, whether you have any or not. I wouldnt build any Outposts next to your #1 Trading Post, you will lose them, but the British won't bother the Trading Posts themselves (for now. Maybe build a few more Outposts next to the one up at your camp (that you built with the Outpost Wagon) *after you get 3000 food, you get a wagon to build a Town Center, build it just to the left of your upper fire and Outpost(s). You also get a few more soldiers. Oh yeah, and your 3 fires dont heal anymore. *build like 4 Medicine Men at your #2 Trading Post, and send them up to your camp *your ultimate mission now is to destroy the British Fort, but save that for the very last thing you do. *next goal is to advance to the Fortress Age, so use your cards (you should have like 9 available) to get a Farm Travois (hunting is scarce by your camp, and it is dangerous for your villagers to be unprotected), any villagers you can, then maybe some soldiers. *if you have been mining coin, you should be able to advance to the Fortress age immediately. Choose any diplomat you want. *if you still need coin, have 10 villagers mine some (on the left side of the map) and guard them with at least 20 soldiers. Leave at least 10 soldiers back at your camp, along with the 2 heroes, to defend. *Build a plantation, as it is dangerous for villagers outside your camp, and assign 10 villagers to it. Also, assign 10 villagers to your Farm. Additionally, have 10 villagers mine coin down near your Trading Posts (or chop wood as needed ....you only need wood to build buildings, and artillery.......protect these villagers with a large group of soldiers. The British may start to attack your Trading Posts now, especially #1, so have these soldiers defend the Trading Posts as well as the mining villagers. *Build enough Longhouses to support 200 population, build a Market, build at least one War Hut, and at least one Artillery Foundry. Build everything close together, up by your upper Camp. Once again, I'm not using cavalry, but building masses of Militia and Culverins *Upgrade everything possible (Market/Farm/Plantation/Trading Post etc) *Build a Fire Pit, and have some villagers dance long enough to make 4 more Medicine Men. *Build enough Guard Militia to make 2 groups of 50 soldiers (including the other ones you started out with, got from cards, etc). Have one group defend your Camp, have the other group defend your miners and your Trading Posts. Assign 4 Medicine Men to each group of soldiers. *build as many Culverins as you can (I built 17) *have your 2 heroes get the rest of the Treasures on the left side of the map while you are building your forces. Have a few villagers gather the scattered resources laying around on the left side of the map. *when you have built as many soldiers/artillery as you can, have one group of soldiers and one group of ALL the culverins start at the bottom right of the map. Explore the map, eliminate enemies, have your heroes gather treasures. Let the culverins destroy the buildings, have the soldiers protect the culverins and take out any enemy soldiers, etc. *save the fort for last, and have fun!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : should have like 4 new cards available, no more soldiers are available until ACT 2, so SAVE them for then --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 1 MAP 7 : "The Battle of Morristown" Primary Objectives : *find and destroy the Hessian base *pursue and destroy Kuechler's army before it destroys the Morristown Capitol building *kill Colonel Kuechler Secondary Objectives : *destroy all of the Hessian Town Centers (100exp) ----------------------------------------- *assign Nathaniel (only hero in this map) group 9, assign soldiers group1, assign artillery group 3. Have group 9 and group 1 guard area up by Fire Pit, have group 3 stay south/out of harms way/just above Washington's gate. *attacks will come from just above your Fire Pit and just to the left of your Stable. Have your group 1 soldiers patrol back and forth between your Fire Pit and Stable *villagers : on the left there are 2 chopping wood (this is a vulnerable area), have them work to the right side of your base (safer). Have your other villagers (9 of them) mine coin until you get 1000 coin, then have them pick berries (just above your Town Center). (Have the 3 on the Fire Pit join the others and work). Build a Market ASAP and upgrade everything *advance to Fortess Age ASAP, choose "The Warrior" (gives you 4 Mantlets and 1 Travois). *use your first card to get a Farm Travois, build it ASAP, and have your 9 berry pickers Farm it. Then build 10 more villagers, have them mine coin until the local mine runs out, then have them build a Plantation. Upgrade your Farm and Plantation ASAP. Build 5 more villagers, have them dance the Fire Pit, and make 8 Medicine Men. *send for Soldiers with any other cards that become available. Once you send for all the soldiers you can, send for 20 sheep and put them on your farm (the game will protest since you can "only have 10 on a farm", but the sheep will still fatten faster) *Once you have your 8 Medicine Men, have those 5 villagers join the other 2 cutting wood. Build enough villagers so you have 30 (10 on each resource). *build 1 or 2 War Huts, maybe an extra Stable, and enough houses to support max (200) population. (A Good place to build houses is by Washington's gate). Build 2 forces of 50 soldiers/fighters (include 4 medicine Men with each group). Cavalry are best against artillery, but you wont encounter them right away. A good mixture of Veteran Dragoons and Guard Militia (2 upgrades at the war Hut) will do nicely. *artillery : you cannot make your own artillery, but Washington will give you some as you destroy enemy buildings. *as soon as you have 2 forces of 50 soldiers (and enough resources to replenish them quickly) attack the Hessian Town north of your village (save your game first). Destroy everything EXCEPT FOR THE STOCKADE ABOVE THE ENEMY TOWN CENTER. (as soon as you destroy this, a race is on, and you want to be ready for it). Have your artillery/group 3, do what they can to destroy enemy buildings, have group 1 protect artillery/assault enemy soldiers/villagers/etc. Have group 2 patrol your village and defend it. *explore the map, what you can of it now anyway, you'll notice that you cannot cross the swamps, except for to the right of the enemy Town Center, there is an enemy gate + walls + Outpost (and a FORT!!!) etc. Have Nathaniel get whatever Treasures he can. *your villagers cutting wood have probably run out of wood on the right of your village, have them mine coin down inside Washington's camp, you will need it soon. Have some farmers start hunting sheep, youll need the extra food soon. *heal/rebuild your soldiers, etc (you should have tons of resources by now), and send BOTH groups of soldiers AND your artillery up to where the enemy gate/fence/Outpost etc is. Have your artillery go right for the Outpost, then immediately have group 1 soldiers get in front of artillery and defend (you will have several large waves of enemy attacks, including artillery). Have group 2 soldiers right behind your artillery as a backup. Destroy all the buildings you can (for now, you can cross the swamp but cannot go further yet) Including the Oupost, walls, the Stable, etc (you cannot reach the Fort yet ). After you have leveled what buildings you can for now, have your artillery destroy their artillery/help your soldiers etc *SAVE YOUR GAME, take several deep breaths and drink lots of caffeine!!! *after 1 or 2 waves of attacks (they will NOT slow down or stop), have group 3 destroy the stockade, and the freed Iroqouis Prisoner will tell you what to do/where things are. *AS SOON as you can see Colonel Kuechlers Hessian Siege army (upper left of map), destroy any attackers near the Fort, then destroy the Fort. Then, send all available units (soldiers and artillery) to Morristown(yellow)....the long way, of course ....there are 2 gates you have to destroy along the way, stop for nothing else except for destroy any Town Centers(do not even fight back at the attackers, just destroy 2 gates and GO GO GO!!! *your group will probably not make it too far, build more soldiers immediately and have them go directly to Morristown (yellow)....destroy gates if needed, etc *you may need to restart your game from your last save a few times to be sucessful. *remember you can trade at your market if your coin gets low *you will NOT have the chance to destroy everything on this map, survival is enough!! *after defeating the army at Morristown, kill Colonel Kuechler and you win!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : you should now have like 6 new cards available SAVE them for ACT 2 when you can get more soldiers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACT 1 MAP 8 : "The Battle of Yorktown" (last Map of Act 1) Primary Objectives : *destroy the British Frontier Outposts *build a Town Center *destroy the British Town Center Secondary Objectives : *destroy the British coastal Outposts *destroy the British redoubt cannons. ------------------------------------------------ *starting out, group soldiers (including Nathaniel) into group 1, your 2 falconets into group 2, defeat attackers, and destroy the 2 Outposts right above where you start out (let artillery destroy buildings, etc). *retreat to where you started out (group 1 and 2), build your Town Center next to to closest Mine, have the 10 villagers hunt deer,6 more villagers pop out after Town Center is built, have them Mine Coin. 2 cards are available, send for villagers (3 and 4 more = 7). Have 5 villagers chop wood, other 2 mine coin. *reinforcements show up, add soldiers to group 1, add falconet to group 2, have 2 heroes (Nathaniel and washington) stay back by Town Center/group 9, have group 1 and 2 continue to guard area where you firts started, have 2 Outpost Wagons build by where groups 1 and 2 are, on south side of creek/where you started. *the French will send you 3 Petards and 4 Colonial Militia, assign group 3 and have them attack the Outpost just above where they are. Wait for more Petards and Militia group them/group 3 then attack the Outpost northeast of where you just attacked. Wait again for more Petards/Militia before attacking the next Outpost (left of where the last one was......taunt the guards first, retreat enough to pick off a few at a time until they are all gone THEN attack the Outpost. Repeat this for 2 more coastal Outposts as you go northwest up the coast. This will not destroy all the coastal Outposts, we will get the rest later with Frigates. Have whats left of group 3 standby for now, you cannot move them anywhere except onto a ship. *Lafayette asks for help on his early assault (on a redoubt). Do NOT help him yet. *ASAP build a Market/upgrade the usual stuff *ASAP upgrade to Fortress age (should be able to almost right away), choose "The Warrior" (you get 4 Mantlets + 1 Travois) *use cards to send for soldiers/add to group 1. *as you clear the coastal Outposts, the French will send you ships, have the Caravels fish, and have the Frigates stand by out of harms way for now. *build 2 War Huts, 2 Stables, 2 Artillery Foundrys, and a bunch of houses, as you get enough wood. Build enough villagers so you have 30 (10 on each resource). No farms or plantations yet.....hunt and mine for now. Build a Fire Pit, and have 5 of your wood choppers dance long enough to make 8 Medicine Men *keep an eye on your Outposts, repair them as needed between attacks (you cannot upgrade them). *(upgrade to Guard Militia), build 2 forces of 50 soldiers, and a few Culverins so you have at least 6 artillery. Add 4 Medicine Men to each group of soldiers. Move group 1 and artillery up a bit to the next creek, just below where the British buildings are. Have 2nd group of soldiers take over guarding spot near your Outposts. Your villagers can safely hunt and mine on the island between the 2 creeks (between your 2 groups of soldiers) *SAVE your game *ships : keep an eye on your Caravels, keep them fishing and out of harms way. You should have 3 Frigates after destroying the coastal Outposts....send them northwest to find 2 fixed guns. Take out a fixed gun, focus on that (ignore attacking ships), use "Broadside Attack" ability (on EACH Frigate), when the first fixed gun is destroyed THEN take out any attacking ships. Wait for Broadside Attack abilities to recharge, and go northwest again to destroy the 2nd fixed gun (you will lose all 3 Frigates right away). Send your Caravels after the 2nd fixed gun (you should have a ton of food by now anyway) to finish it off. Then have your Caravels destroy the 2 enemy docks. Try to save at least one Caravel for later. *cards : you can send for 3 fishing boats and 20 sheep if you want *attack : have one group of soldiers and your artillery attack the nearest British building (the southern redoubt if the French havent finished it yet), have 2nd group of fighters guard the creek right below the southern redoubt. *destroy everything EXCEPT for the British Town Center (save it for last) *while you are doing this, have your abandoned coastal Outpost attackers board a Caravel ship, and disembark on the island where the fixed guns are, you'll find some enemy soldiers and another Outpost to Destroy. If you dont make it, dont worry, just send some more soldiers up there to finish the job. *the French will destroy the British Town Center before you can destroy everything. At least try to complete all your objectives and destroy as many buildings as you can. Dont destroy too much around the British Town Center until you have completed all your other objectives. And remember, many battles are random, so dont be afraid to reload from your last saved game any try it again for the best results/experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : you should have like 6 new cards available, save them for ACT2 for more soldiers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ====================================END OF ACT 1======================================== ACT 2 MAP 1 : "The Bozeman Trail" Primary Objectives : *Find a Trading Post Site *Build a Trading Post *Escort the Covered Wagon from Fort Laramie to the Trading Post (twice) *Destroy both Sioux Town Centers Secondary Objectives : *Own 2 Trading Posts when the scenario ends (500 exp) -------------------------------------- *I tried this map several times, several ways, and the only way I got through it was how I describe it here. Try it for yourself, save your game from the start, go up the Trading Route trail, build a Trading Post, try to build a village and defend against the relentless Native attacks, you will lose!!My strategy is to wipe out one one the 2 Native villages before you build your first Trading post.....it works, but it is slow starting out. Those native attacks are relentless!! *group your regular soldiers into group 1, group the 2 heroes into group 2, and go just a little northeast of Fort Laramie (yellow) until you find a treasure (2 cows). *back off your group 1 out of harms way and use your 2 heroes to get that treasure, the cows will be fully fattened by the time you start your village (dont put your cows near Fort Laramie or they will take them from you) *I chose not to engage any of my regular soldiers/group 1 until after I started building my village, you can choose to use them and lose them all, or keep them safe until you really need them. For now, keep them down by where you got those 2 cows *just a little north of that treasure is a (enemy)native village (red/Red Cloud Sioux) Use you 2 heroes and sneak up on it until you can see their soldiers(cavalry), use one of Chayton's 2 special abilities one time to take out one enemy and back off (back towards where you got the 2 cows)...the enemy will only follow you so far, then retreat. Approach them again, this time use Chayton's other special ability one time on one enemy and retreat. Wait for at least one special ability to recharge then attack/retreat until all enemy soldiers are gone *attack the War Hut next (when a hero's health gets red, retreat, when it turns green again....attack).....this will take a while (attack villagers as they attack you) ....then attack the Town Center.....this will take a very long time *while you're waiting, have your group 1 explore the map as much as you can without engaging any enemies, read a book, or whatever (if you alt/tab the game and try to do something else on your computer, the game pauses, so dont do that) you're in no danger of being attacked, for now, as long as youre not near anything that can attack you, so its safe to leave the game running and leave your computer for a few minutes at a time (just make sure to save first just in case) *oh yeah, the last thing you want on this map is for one of your heroes to "pass out", especially near enemy soldiers or buildings.....and.......appparently the heroes have to be standing still to heal *after the enemy Town Center gets down to like 2000 hit points left, it stops shooting at you, you now can have all available units (except for your cows) attack it and level it :-) *after clearing out the red native village, have your 2 heroes explore the rest of the map, gather treasures, etc. You will run into some small enemy patrols, if there are 3 or less units, just take them out, if there are more.....do the attack/retreat thing. Stay clear of the upper left of the map (the other Native village) until you have explored the rest of the map, gotten treasures, etc. *Do not yet attempt to collect a treasure near the top of the map where there are like 4 Riflemen Guardians (and the treasure is a map worth some coin).....they will either knock out your heroes and/or wipe out your regular soldiers right now. *Once you have explored the entire map, and have gotten all the treasures (except that one), and have cleared all the small enemy patrols, have your 2 heroes attack the other Native (enemy)(orange/Crazy Horse-Sioux) village like you did the first one except do NOT destroy the Town Center (or you will win too quickly and miss a lot of experience) *Save your game *have all available units meet at the middle Trading Post site (yes, including your cows), and have Chayton build a Trading Post *when thats done, a covered wagon and some soldiers(6 Musketeers....isnt that 3 too many?) will appear at Fort Laramie, use those soldiers only (dont worry about running down and helping) to escort the wagon to your Trading Post. While this is happening, have group 1 and your 2 heroes build a Trading Post at the site up North. *after the wagon arrives and starts building a Town center, have the units who escorted it protect it while it builds. *after you build your 2nd Trading Post, another Covered Wagon and some more soldiers (4 Veteran Dragoons)appear at Fort Laramie, have those soldiers escort the wagon to your North Trading Post *continue to have the 6 Musketeers guard your first/still building Town Center, have your 2 heroes guard the new/north Trading Post, and have your group 1 soldiers meet up with the Veteran Dragoons above your middle trading Post and take out any enemy soldiers that appear (they want to take out your Covered Wagon, which has very few hit points).....and continue escorting the covered wagon north. *have your Musketeers and Veteran Dragoons guard the north camp (Trading Post and still building Town Center). Have your 2 heroes and your group 1 soldiers guard your middle camp (Trading Post and Town Center). *you want to advance to the next age ASAP, so have your 6 villagers "hunt" your 2 cows (its more like "cow tipping")for a quick 1000 food (you only need 800 food to advance to the Colonial Age) *you should have like 16 cards available, so get some villagers (2 and 3), and some more food and coin so you can age up again real fast (to the Fortress Age you need 1200 food and 1000 coin.....so you need at least 2 shipments of 300 food and 3 of 300 coin.....save the rest of your cards for soldiers).....also, send for a Farm Travois (there are plenty of Buffalo on this map, but it is too dangerous and too hard to protect your 2 camps and hunters/miners etc all at once) *after you "hunt' your 2 cows, have your 11 villagers mine coin (nearby your middle Town Center), have 2 of them gather the food and coin shipments as they arrive. *as soon as you advance to the Colonial Age, you should be able to advance to the Fortress Age immediately.....do this and upgrade to "Stagecoach" at your Trading Post (then you can choose what resources you get at your 2 Trading Posts) *use your cards to send for soldiers, add them to group 1 at your middle camp (the bulk of the attacks will be here) *as soon as you build your farm, have 10 of your 11 villagers Farm it, and do all upgrades. *before you advance to the Industrial Age (this is mainly for upgrades to your soldiers), you want to build an army (some pretty intense attacks are still coming even though we almost wiped out the enemy from the start). Build a market, a War Hut, a Stable, at least 5 houses right off the bat, and an artillery foundry.....all around your middle camp. Again, you want 2 groups of 50 fighters, one at each camp (20 or 30 up north and more in the middle). *you'll need to build more villagers (30 again 10 for each resource)......once the mine near your middle camp is used up, have 10 villagers mine up north at the 2 mines near your north camp, then have them build a plantation if still needed. *it gets pretty crowded at the middle camp, so have your woodcutters cut wood up by your north camp (its safer anyway), build some houses and a Fire Pit up there too) *once you have built all of your buildings and have plenty of wood (at least 1000), have 5 of your woodcutters dance on the Fire Pit, and make 8 Medicine Men (assign 4 to each group of fighters) *artillery : dont really need any on this map, but if you just cant help yourself, do what you gotta do *while you're doing all this building, so is Crazy Horse, as the attacks will increase in both intensity and frequency. (Imagine the attacks if we didnt eliminate the other village first....wow) *dont forget about the treasure at the top of the map, have a large group of your soldiers take out the guardians, then have a hero get the booty *once you've maxed out your forces, advanced to the Industrial Age, and upgraded everything you can, its time to attack Crazy Horse *leave a small contingent of soldiers (say 20) back at your middle camp, and have a large group (50) attack the village.......save the Town Center for last *go for it!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : you should have like 12 cards available, now you can actually use them to get more soldiers....pay attention to what "age' you can send the card (age 3 or 4), dont bother with the mercenaries for hire right now (the ones that cost like 1000 coin), get the horse artillery, and get the bison (15 bison = 500 food x 15 = 7500 food) Deck : arrange your deck so you have : Age 3.....15 bison and like 7 soldier cards, Age 4 .....nothing for now, Age 2......the 4 villagers card and 4 soldier cards, Age 1......2 villager cards, infinite/300 food/wood/coin cards, farm travois and 3 fishing boats cards ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 2 MAP 2 : "Red Cloud's War" Primary Objectives : *Save 20 Railroad Workers from the Sioux *Build 3 Trading Posts and upgrade the trade route Secondary Objectives : *Take out the Hole in the Wall Gang's Hideout ----------------------------------------- *get ready for total madness, Crazy Horses' attacks are relentless in this map *starts out telling you to save 20 railroad workers.......dont bother, they will gather in by themselves *be cautious grabbing any treasures....there are many guardians at each one, and you need your heroes to stay healthy......better yet, ignore treasures and just head down to your camp....have your heroes stand by to build a Trading Post ASAP (very bottom of the map/a little to the right)......this map is too crazy and the treasures arent really worth a whole lot to worry about them *pause your game.......explore your camp........notice the 2 Outposts at the top of your camp.....the left one is currently set to "deliver home shipments".....send for settlers ASAP(should be able to send for a total of 9 settlers ) *keep your eye on these Outposts and any other buildings you have control over throughout this map, and keep them repaired up *as the Railroad Workers arrive, let the first few gather a few resources by the Market, upgrade "Placer Mines" at your Market, then have all Railroad workers mine coin at 2 places : 1) right above where your Trading Post will go, and 2) to the right of your Outposts (where the cows are).......when the 2 mines are depleted, have the Workers join your camp defense (they throw dynamite!!) *as your villagers show up, have them chop wood down by where your Trading Post is, and keep them out of harms way (just have them run away from any attackers until your town center is built) *at your Mercenary Building "Goat on the Moon" (next to your Market), buy as many "Pistoleros" as you can throughout this map (they are cheapest, and each one counts as 5 population vs more with most of the other choices) *you'll get familiar real quick with the 2 places to defend (both are openings in the fence by Outposts), have one group patrol back and forth and defend *have Chayton build a Trading Post ASAP, and upgrade it ASAP (2 upgrades), and set it to collect coin. Keep your 2 heroes out of the fighting for now, unless absolutely necessary. *once you get almost 20 railroad workers, add 10 of them to your defense force, have the rest keep mining *as soon as your 20 Railraod workers arrive, your next objective appears (build 3 Trading Posts and upgrade the Trade Route)......dont go anywhere just yet. *after you get your villagers sent from home, send for soldiers and have them help defend your camp......as many as possible *as soon as you get 600 wood, have your villagers build a Town Center just left of your Trading Post. You should have even more villagers. Let the villagers gather the provisions, then have them chop more wood until all the trees to the right of your Trading Post are cleared (keep villagers away from fighting ......now they can run and hide in the Town Center if need be) ........have your home shipments sent to your Town Center .......send for 15 bison ......as soon as the wood is cleared, build a War Hut and an Artillery Foundry, have some villagers "hunt" cows and some "hunt" bison *when reinforcements from Fort Laramie arrive, ........save your game here...... then group the new arrivals apart from everything else (but all together in one group......Group #2...... including artillery) ....also add your 2 heroes to this group), have them go directly to the center of the map.......to the left a little now up just a little............ look for a house with a crate of food and approach it.......you will discover a secondary objective "Take out the Hole in the Wall Gang's Hideout" *......take em out, then have your group 2 go just a bit north and free 2 villagers trapped by some treasure guardians, have the 2 freed villagers gather the resources laying around where the "gang" was, and immediately have your group 2 go to the middle Trading Post site, and have Chayton build a Trading Post, then immediately have group 2 go north and build the last Trading Post. *meanwhile, back in your camp there are constant relentless attacks, keep your defensive forces as maxed as possible, build Guard Musketeers and Pistoleros, keep you villagers busy.........yeah right........good luck!!!!.......might have to reload this one a few times from where the reinforcements came in and try it many times to finish it ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : all that and you only get one new card.......aaaaargh no total annihilation = little experience ....doesnt total chaos count for something?.....lol ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 2 MAP 3 : "Claims" Primary Objectives : * Destroy all enemy Barracks and War Huts. Do not let 4 mining camps be destroyed. Secondary Objectives : * Allow no mining camps to be destroyed (200exp) * allow no Trading Posts to be destroyed (300 exp) ---------------------------------------------- *less crazy than the last map, total destruction is possible :-) *start out by grouping ( 3 heroes and soldiers in group 1, falconet in group 5, villagers in group 8) *leave the villagers as they are for now (2 on wood, 5 on food) *send for more villagers (3 groups for a total of 9 more, have 2 more on wood, rest on food).....then send for as many soldiers as you can, as cards become available *post group 1 up by your NorthEast(upper right) Camp Outpost/Tower....defend your first attack which will come across the river there. Have your falconet back them up. *click on each Trading Post (there are 7), have 4 collect coin, 3 collect food *I will refer to the Trading posts as #1 (upper right/Far north), going south to #2, going south again to #3, going west near the middle of the map to #4, going south to near the bottom of the map to #5, going NorthWest (up and left) to #6, and finally to #7 (far left). *as soon as you defeat the first attack, have group 1 go SouthWest (down/left).... to the left of Trading Post #4, and destroy the Fort before it finishes building.....then go back up to your camp and have them guard the same place they were before (upper right camp Outpost, by the river) ......steady attacks will come thru here *upgrade "Veteran Musketeers" at your War Hut, and build/build/build lots of em ........you want to work towards making 4 groups of 20 to 30 soldiers *have 4 villagers chop wood near your camp (up by the war hut/town center), and have the rest hunt Bison, for now......once there are no bison near your camp, have 10 villagers build a farm (upgrade it) right in your camp ......do NOT have any villagers hunt bison near the river where you can cross it *an attack to your far left Trading Post/Mining Camp will happen soon......send 5 or 10 units there quickly to deal with them before they destroy any buildings .....repair the buildings after the fight, and assign these soldiers group 2, have them stand guard between #7 and #6 Trading Posts *add more soldiers to group 2 until its like 30 strong, and dont forget to keep group 1 at least 20 strong. *have 5 or more soldiers start group 3, and have them defend the #3 and #4 Trading Posts. *attacks will increase in size and frequency, but as long as you keep sending for soldiers and building Veteran Musketeers, you should have no problems *remember to repair buildings after each battle *after you have 30 units in groups 1 2 and 3, build group 4 as big as you can (50 units) *upgrade to the Industrial Age, build one of every type of building, upgrade everything (especially Guard Musketeers) *your 4 villagers cutting wood will quickly run out of stuff to cut around your camp, have them work over to the right of Trading Post #2....its safe enough while you're distracting the enemy in 3 different places....for the most part. *once group 4 is maxed and so is your population, have group 4 attack/totally annihilate the (pink)Rival Miners/Spanish......in case you havent noticed, their camp is between your Trading Posts #3, 4 and 5....that black spot on the mini map in the bottom right........clear em out!!!! *keep groups 1 and 2 at their posts, but you may have group 3 help destroy things .....from Trading Post #3 there is a Town Center.....start there and work south and meet group 4 in the middle somewhere......one enemy camp down and 2 to go!!! *have group 3 clear out Treasure Guardians on your side (south) of the river, then have a "hero" go get the treasures *Form 3 groups of 50 soldiers (plus extras to refortify) *keep group 1 where they are (north of your camp by your northeast Outpost/by the river), have group 2 guard where you can cross the river (where that Fort was/left of your Trading Post #4), and have group 3 start destroying things above your #1 Trading Post.....and then work their way west..... *the 2 War Huts/Barracks that are left for you to destroy so you can win the map .......save them for last *destroy everything but those 2 war huts/barracks, collect treasures, then finish the map!! (and you should have lost NO buildings of any kind) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cards : should have 3 available, 2 if if you used the one you got last time ......no more regular soldiers are available.....the mercenaries for hire are usually too expensive to use......get what you want, but make sure your primary deck of 20 cards has the best stuff (soldiers, then whatever) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 2 MAP 4 : "Ambushed!" Primary Objectives : *Bring Chayton to Crazy Horse's camp Secondary Objectives : *run a black powder Wagon into a Weapons Cache to open a pass (200 exp) ---------------------------------------------------------- *you gotta fight your way to go see Crazy Horse, so might as well take everything out and get max experience, etc *you start out with 10 villagers, have them farm (upgrade Farm), build 8 villagers right away, have half mine and half chop wood *build a Market ASAP.....research mining and wood stuff *have Chayton (assign him group 9) explore the local area.....do not engage any enemies/defense only ......map out your camp......have him stand guard at the only entrance/exit to your camp (by the Weapons Cache) *Weapons Caches/Powder Wagons : every time you destroy an enemy Town Center, you will get a Powder Wagon......save these in your village and dont use them until you have explored/destroyed everything possible in the entire map first ........opening up a "pass" invites more enemies, and you have enough to deal with without more problems *as you get experience, send for villagers, I got 12.......get/build enough villagers for 10 on each resource (30 total)......group them (8, 7, 6) *next cards (after villagers)......get soldiers *there are some resources laying around inside your camp.....have 1 or 2 villagers get these, protected by Chayton *build 2 War Huts ASAP, build lots of houses, and build one force of 50 regular Musketeers (or combined with soldiers sent).....group #1, have them guard where Chayton is......be prepared for some (possibly)pretty intense attacks.......repeatedly......keep 50 units there *advance to the Fortress age (I chose the "Shaman" politician, you get 3 Travois) *build an Artillery Foundry, upgrade to Veteran Musketeers (War Hut), upgrade Farm build a Stable if you want, upgrade everything else you can *build a Fire Pit and create 8 Medicine men (assign 4 to a group of soldiers as usual), then do the "War Dance" *create a 2nd group of 50 soldiers .....skirmishers seem to work best on this map *there are few to none enemy cavalry on this map, so for your cavalry build Hussars not Dragoons *for a quick boost in food, have 15 bison delivered from your home city, have your farmers "hunt" them *advance to the Industrial Age,upgrade everything possible (the only building you cant build on this map is a dock) *build a plantation, upgrade it (x2), when the 3 mines around your village are depleted, have your miners work here *create 8 (or more) Culverins, have them all assist 2nd group of soldiers in attacks *send 2nd group of soldiers and their culverins out to attack everything possible, you should be able to get to 75% of the map this way without blowing up any Weapons Caches, send all Powder Wagons back to your village for now. *expect some massive resistance, up to 2 or 3 large groups of enemies at a time .....retreat and regroup/heal between battles as needed .......remember, Medicine Men heal betterwhen everyone is standing still, when no one is being attacked (they heal artillery and Powder Wagons, too) *treasures.....take out the treasure guardians as you find them, the enemy has no heroes that I know of, so they cant grab the treasures *even after you destroy what seems like everything you can, more enemies will appear from nowhere, over and over, keep your village safe with group 1 and their artillery (if any) *sweep the entire accessible area a second time : .......to make sure you got everything you can get to .......some places there are visible enemies/buildings on different levels that you cant get to yet......take out what you can (from a different level) and it will save you a lot of trouble later *there are 6 Weapons Caches to blow up, 3 are entrances to small areas where there is an enemy village, etc.......2 make shortcuts so you dont have to go around the long way, and the one at the top of the map is the LAST one you want to blow up, as it leads you to Crazy Horse *blow up the 2 shortcut Weapons Caches *blow up one of the Weapons Caches that lead into a small area with a village, etc .......make sure your attackers are standing by ready to attack *go for the other small area w/ a village.....then the next one *make sure you get all the treasures *blow up the last Weapons Cache, and have Chayton visit Crazy Horse *yep, Holme is an idiot, must be that Mountain Brain Fever or something....lol ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : 2 more from this last map ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 2 MAP 5 : "Turning Point" Primary Objectives : *protect the Settlers gathering wood for the Fort *destroy the Forts' Command Post ----------------------------------------------- *SAVE YOUR GAME *build Veteran Skirmishers up to max population (30 right now) before you attempt to fight the Sioux, otherwise you'll spend a lot more and build a lot more. Holme will keep sending villagers to chop wood, and they will die, but apparently Holme doesnt complain or anything, plus this is the only quiet part of the map, the next part is totally insane, so enjoy it while it lasts. *assign 2 Trading Posts to get coin, one to get Food ......keep them this way, even when it seems like you need more food..... you will need lots of coin later *have Chayton explore the map and gather treasures (avoid the one in the upper right with the 4 Outlaw Riders unless you want Chayton to "take a nap" and waste time) *once you have 30 soldiers, go shoot some Sioux and let the Settlers actually chop some wood, the Forts' construction progress is shown at the top of your screen. Build more Skirmishers to replenish as many as you can as fast as you can *once the Fort gets to 80% completeed, switch all 3 Trading Stations to get Coin and stop building soldiers *........once the Fort is built, Holme and Chayton get into a verbal fight and Holme takes over all the stuff in the south of the map, and becomes your enemy. Chayton sides with the Sioux and their village in the north becomes yours. *SAVE YOUR GAME *your one and only focus is to destroy that Command Post, NOTHING ELSE including defense of your camp, villagers, etc......matters (I tried this map like 4 times , once I even cheated just to see what would happen, and thats the way this map is.......crazy!!) *immediately have 5 villagers chop wood, upgrade Lumber Ceremony and Placer Mines at your Market, have 2 villagers stand by at your Town Center to collect coin *you should have at least 1500 coin, if not, start over *you should have like 8 cards available, send for : (cards 1, 2 and 3) chests of 300 coin times 3 ( 900 coin additional (cards 4, 5, and 6) villagers (12 villagers total) (cards 7 and 8) Mantlets *build an Artillery Foundry ASAP (need 300 wood) *build 5 Culverins........have all villagers chop wood until you have built your Artilllery Foundry and have built 5 Culverins, then have 15 Mine Coin and 4 Chop Wood, and build 1 more Culverin *you will get another available card, get 7 Kanya Horsemen *after the second group of Mantlets arrives and BEFORE your Kanya Horsemen arrive, send your Culverins and Soldiers to the middle of the map, and "hide" by the Silver Mine there *when your Kanya horsemen arrive, just have them meet the other soldiers *if a large group of enemies arrives BEFORE you leave you village, and they see you, start your game over from your last save (or they will destroy you) ......if not, youre doing great *when the large group of enemies starts to attack your village, take out the Command Post *keep the Culverins focused on their objective (select the Culverins and click the target repeatedly *have your soldiers defend the Culverins, destroy enemy soldiers, Outposts, and villagers (in that order.....only if they are actively attacking your Culverins *if this doesnt work out so well, start over again from your last save and try again........Good Luck!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : none from this last map ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT2 MAP 6 : "Trust" Primary Objectives : *Earn 15,000 experience points *find Sheriff Holme Secondary Objectives : *earn 150 experience points for each Outlaw killed *earn 1000 experience points for building a Trading Post on the Trade Route (1000 exp) *earn 2000 Experience Points for rescuing the Sioux War Chief and returning him to the flagged area in the Sioux village *earn 300 Experience Points for each Sioux warrior prisoner returned to the flagged area in the Sioux village. ---------------------------------------------- *Holmes' Bandits (red) will attack you with increasingly large forces, but it will be a while before he starts using artillery too .........build/get soldiers.......then worry about experience *have the 3 Miners mine coin after they get the resources laying around, you might want to group them (group 8) so you can get to them easily. Upgrade "Placer Mines" at your Market *have Chayton stay around the Town Center for now, and take care of any small enemy attacks. *build 9 Axe Riders(stable), add them to group 1/soldiers *have the soldiers you start out with take out the Treasure Guardians close by (Jaguars guarding a "pet" Jaguar), have Chayton get the "Pet", then have your soldiers defend an attack on the north side of your camp. *in between defending attacks on your village, have your soldiers hang out where you got the Jaquar, and take out any Supply Wagons coming through.......dont attack anything yet, just defend......wait till you get more soldiers *remember to repair buildings after any attacks *send for villagers with you first 3 cards, have 10 of them build a Farm and Farm it(upgrade it twice), have the other 2 join the Miners and mine coin, or chop wood occasionally as needed, get soldiers with the next 4 cards *once you have like 20 soldiers, there are 2 Outlaw camps near where you got the Jaguar, one a little northwest from wher you got the jaguar, the other west of where you got the jaguar.....you will also run into a few of Holmes' soldiers .......take them out, too *have you 3 miners gather any resources from supply wagons, outlaw camps, etc after the area is safe....dont let the resources lay around too long, or someone else might get them *continue building lots of Axe Riders, once you have like 30 soldiers in group 1, create group 2 with at least 20 soldiers *keep building soldiers, but leave enough food (1200) and coin (1000) to advance to the next age. *have group 1 go north up the trading route and find the Trading Post site *have group 2 stand around where you got the jaguar/attack supply wagons/defend your village *once you find the Trading Post site, destroy the existing enemy trading post and any attacking enemies, take out the treasure guardians to the right of the Trading Post site (2 different treasures), take out the tents at a camp just to the left of the Trading Post site, then stand guard where those tents were and take out any Supply Wagons/defend the area *have Chayton build a Trading Post (upgrade to Stagecoach) and get the treasures ......one is a villager, have them collect resources laying around by the treasure sites and just to the left of the Trading Post *you should be able to advance to the Fortress Age, do it.....choose "The Chief" and you get 4 villagers and 1 Travois. *have the Travois build a Plantation, have the 4 new villagers chop wood (upgrade x3 at market), upgrade your Farm again, upgrade to Elite Axe Riders (Stable) *advance to the Industrial Age, choose "The Warrior", upgrade your Trading Post to "Iron Horse" (trains), Upgrade to Champion Axe Riders (stable), upgrade (at War Hut) Champion Wakina Rifles *keep building lots of Champion Wakina Rifles and a few Champion Axe Riders until you have 2 groups of 50 soldiers *have group 2 explore the lower half of the map, take out Outlaw camps, save prisoners, take out Treasure Guardians, etc.........have them regroup back where you got the jaguar in between each battle to get any Supply Wagons going thru/defend your village/rebuild your forces, etc *you will have increasingly large attacks on your village from Holme's Bandits (red)including artillery *have group 1 explore the upper half of the map, take out enemies, Outlaws, treasure guardians, etc, regroup between each battle near your Trading Post *when you resuce the Sioux warrior prisoners (Champion Axe Riders), just send them by themselves to the flagged area, no escort needed....then you can add them to your soldiers. *the War Chief is at the very top of the map, have group 1 rescue him, come in from the right side, do NOT try to go thru the enemy camp yet just to the south of where the War Chief is being held prisoner ( I didnt save him until later on in the game and still got plenty of experience.....sorry Chief :-p *you should have your 15000 experience by now, and a new primary objective (find Sheriff Holme) *SAVE YOUR GAME *Crazy Horse and Wind Feather are both able to make a Town Center, but if you do, you still wont be able to make villagers, so dont bother *with the additional soldiers from the Sioux, plus yours, you should have max population (200+), have your 2 groups of soldiers clear out everything on the map except for the enemy village and do NOT go into the caves yet. *dont worry about collecting resources laying around the map anymore, and take out the treasure guardians, but dont worry about getting the treasures yet. I did those things after wiping out the enemy village, before going into the caves. *you will lose some soldiers during your exploration/assualt, especially outside the enemy camp, build 8 or 10 Culverins (each one uses 4 population, so build a few at a time as your soldiers die off) *before you attack the enemy village, have an attack force of like 25 Champion Wakina Rifles and 25 Champion Axe Riders ready (along with your artillery), and another large group of soldiers to defend your village (doesnt have to be 50 strong, but at least 30) *attack the enemy village with your attack force and artillery, have artillery start with the Outpost behind the fence with a barracks behind it, have soldiers attack a section of fence when theyre not defending artillery or foghting off enemy soldiers........its ok to clear out every last thing on the map, just dont go into the caves yet. *go ahead and get the resources laying around and get the treasures *have an attack force go into the caves and "visit" with Holme ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cards : 4 new cards, but who cares? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACT 2 MAP 7 (FINAL MAP OF THE GAME) : "Battle of the Little Bighorn" Primary Objectives : *Bring the 3 Cheyenne War Chiefs to the Town Center *defend the Sioux camp until General Custer arrives *kill General Custer Secondary Objectives : *Destroy both enemy Town Centers *Destroy General Custers' buildings ------------------------------------------ *SAVE YOUR GAME *you have like 7 minutes to bring the 3 War Chiefs to your Town Center .......get moving *have all 10 villagers you start out with (including the ones dancing on your Fire Pit) hunt Bison....to the right of your camp *group your soldiers and have them go right to the Cheyenne village on your left. Once you get there, move Chief Two Moon out of harms way and take care of the attackers. You'll get a few more soldiers, add them to group and have all fighters immediately go back to your village to defend an attack northeast of your Town Center *there are like 4 villagers under your control now from that Cheyenne village, have them mine coin, and have your other 10 villagers Farm. This village is where you will gather all your resources, and eventually will become your Town Center, too, after your present one is destroyed *Have Chief Two Moon meet Chayton back at your Town Center *after defending the attack, have your soldiers go immediately to the middle Cheyenne village, there are no attackers here, so go immediately back to your Town Center to defend another attack at the same place *add the new soldiers to yours, send Chief Bull Bear to your Town Center to meet up with Chayton and Chief Two Moon *dont worry about losing tents, etc......it will not affect your max population, it stays at 200 throughout the game *after defending the 2nd attack, have your soldiers go immediately to the 3rd Cheyenne village (on the right), do not stop at the enemy Outpost on the way to fight......keep going to the village. *there are 3 places to cross the river(the one with water in it) ...on the left, you can get to the upper left part of the map .....in the middle, you will be able to get to the dry riverbed (the squiggly thing in the top/middle of the map) once Custers Army blows up the rocks blocking it ......on the right, you can get to the Cheyenne village on the right and the rest of the upper right part of the map *when you get there, immediately send Chief Brave Wolf to your Town Center (by himself), add the new soldiers to yours, and have the 3 villagers stay there and chop wood for now. *at your Market, upgrade woodcutting twice, also upgrade your Farm twice *have your soldiers go back to your Town Center, this time you may destroy the enemy Outpost on your way back (and the skirmishers).....do not engage any other enemies for now, go back to your Town Center *you have met your first objective by the 3 Chiefs meeting with Chayton at your Town Center.......have your soldiers and heroes defend your Town Center from the light blue enemies (Custers Right Wing or left nut or something) until Custers Army (blue) gets there *SAVE YOUR GAME *keep an eye on Custers Army (blue) as they make their way down the dried up riverbed (the big brown squiggly thing at the top of the map) *unfortunately, you dont have enough soldiers and resources to destroy Custers buildings right now, and when Custers Army gets to your Town Center *your middle Cheyenne village : abandon it, give the enemy yet something else to focus on while you build up your forces *set the War Hut at the left village to "deliver home city shipments to this building", and send for soldiers, have these new soldiers defend your left village *in between defensive attacks, have your main group of soldiers explore the immediate area.....take out small bands of enemies, cross the river (on the left) to the other side just a little then turn back......return to your Town Center often to defend it from light blue guys *Trading Posts : just build one at your left village, build 4 Medicine men, group them independently, and have them go around and heal people (soldiers, heroes, and villagers) when its safe.......otherwise keep them out of harms way *advance to the Industrial Age, choose "The Chief", you get 10 villagers and 1 Travois......have the Travois build a Siege Workshop, and have the 10 new villagers mine coin with your 5 miners *SAVE YOUR GAME *build a stable in your left village, upgrade Elite Axe Riders, then Champion Axe Riders once you're in the Industrial Age *upgrade (War Hut) Champion Wakina Rifles *send for (3) horse artillery, build 7 Culverins *when Custers Army breaks through the rocks in the middle river crossing, abandon your Town Center, have your heroes hang out up by your Farm (left village) and have both your groups of soldiers hang out/defend your left village *SAVE YOUR GAME *Custers Army's first group of soldiers (7 Hussars and 2 Falconets) doesnt look so intimidating, but look up at the riverbed......here comes Custer with LOTS more soldiers and artillery.....let him destroy your Town Center and it will give him something to do while you finish building up your forces. *Custer and his gang will stay around where your old Town Center was, do not approach them yet, if they approach you, retreat/try to take out just a few at a time DEFENSE ONLY for now. DO NOT KILL CUSTER YET (he is on a brown horse with a black uniform/he has 5000 hit points but he CAN and WILL die ......lets take care of some other things first) *you can build a new Town Center in your left village, if you want, but you dont really need to *crazy ole Crazy Horse shows up and tries to save your Town Center .......click on him and try to send him and his "lunatics" (there are extra cavalry all over the map now) to safety at your left village .......if they make it safely, fine, if not, no big deal .......Crazy Horse will probably get beat up and "take a nap" where your old Town Center was.......let him be for now. *you should have like 250 population now (lots of extra soldiers) *your miners will soon use up both the mines in your left camp, have 10 of them build a plantation (upgrade it x2), have the others build a chop wood (and build a Market if you lose your other one in the far right village) *have one group of soldiers and your artillery begin attacking Custers buildings.......start on the upper left side.......wipe out the whole upper left side......when your soldiers get down to about 20, retreat to a nearby safe area and add Champion Axe Riders and Champion Wakina Rifles until maxed out (50).....then attack again, etc *have a 2nd group of soldiers defend the left village *keep your population maxed out, keep building Champion Axe Riders and Champion Wakina Rifles, add them to your defense squad *when you think you have cleared the upper left side of enemies, take another look, theres a peninsula on the top right side with an Outpost and a treasure ......take out the Outpost.........guess what else you can do from here? .......shoot across the dry riverbed and take out as many buildings as you can ........I managed to take out ALL of Custers Army (blue) buildings ........take out treasure guardians on the upper left side, double check that you have eliminated everything there, and return to your left village. *have your artillery stand down for now.....have them retreat inside the village somewhere *build up/heal your soldiers to max population *SAVE YOUR GAME *attack Custer's Army (blue) ......remember they are hanging out where your old Town center was, just to the right of where you are now......DO NOT KILL CUSTER YET (that is why I just had you save).......take out eveything else he has with him though ........remember.......Custer is on a brown horse with a black uniform/he has 5000 hit points but he CAN and WILL die ......lets take care of some other things first) *have one large group of soldiers stay back and defend your village while a 2nd group attacks Custer's Army.......this will take several waves of attacks (attack......entire group dies........rebuild.....attack, etc) ......oh, say as much as 10 times? *you should have tons of resources, so dont worry about running out soon (are your villagers still working?) .......if you need a boost of food.......get 15 bison delivered from home.........and/or research Cheyenne Hunting Grounds at your Trading Post (you get 12 Bison) .......if you need coin.......send shipments from home ........remember your Market......trade (you should have tons of wood you dont need) *to avoid killing Custer, be very aware of his presence and do constant clicking on OTHER targets *once you have destroyed everything BUT Custer(he should still have more than half his 5000 hit points left......run back to your village and heal/fortify back up to 50 soldiers *destroy the upper right side of the map.......have one group of soldiers run to the upper right side of the map (constant clicking).....Custer will follow you for a little bit but soon will give up, once you get across the river (the one with water in it), stop........bring your artillery over in the same manner (run to the other side of the river/constant clicking/keep artillery in "Limber Mode")......destroy everything on the upper right side of the map *while youre doing that, have your heroes (you should have 5) gather treasures ........to avoid Custer, stay close to edges on the bottom of the map..... run (constant clicking away from him) etc *once you eliminated everything on the upper right side, double check it, eliminate treasure guardians, etc........have your soldiers travel up the dry riverbed and make sure all is clear *once you have verified that all enemies on the map are eliminated (except for Custer) and you have gathered all the treasures, go and kill Custer .......I think you know where he is :-p *thats all folks!!
