~ The Alchemy Pot is a magical 'cooking pot'.
- You use RECIPES to make a particular item.
+ INGREDIENTS are the items in aby character's personal inventory or that are
in the ITEM BAG.
~ When ingredients don't make a useful recipe, the Alchemy Pot:
- Blows its lid.
- Items are returned to inventory.
- And you are told to try again.

~ Valuable special items:
+ The THIEF'S KEY.
- This Key opens many (but not all) of the locked Treasure Chests.
- You get the Alchemy Pot in Peregrin Quay.
- You also get the ingredients for the Thief's Key.
- This should be the FIRST item you make in the Alchemy Pot.
* Time to make: It takes about half a dozen battles when walking across the
Field.
* There is supposed to be a chime when the Pot is done, but it isn't very
obvious.
- Later, when you have the MAGIC KEY, the THIEF'S KEY can be used to make a
BANDIT'S AXE.
+ The SAGE'S STONE is a useful item in battle as it restores 100 Hp to all in
the party.
- However, you will be able ot find one in the Black Citadel.
+ When the TIMBREL OF TENSION is used as an item in battle, it raises the
tension of all party members one level.
- This strengthens their attack.
- Put the TIMBREL OF TENSION in the inventory of the person who has the
weakest attack.

- It IS worth it.
$$$ (1) HOLY WATER can be made but it is available in just about every town you go
to, AND very cheaply, so it isn't worth the cost or the time to make.
$$$ (2) Magic water can only be made with a Magic Seed.
- you don't find enough of the seeds to make it worth while.
- Later in the game you can buy some, for only 300 G.

the cottage) AFTER you defeat SIR LEOPOLD.
+ I ended up with a total of seven, but I can't remember where I got the other
three.
- The following monster was NOT on my Defeated Monster List.
+ A monster named HELLSPAWN may drop one when defeated.
- Rumour suggests that it might appear in the BLACK CITADEL.

- This robe has a DEF = 82, so would be good for Jessica & Angelo.
* Go get the NOOK GRASS as soon as you defeat SIR LEOPOLD.
> See Marek in his apartment in Orkutsk.
* And make two of the robe straight away.
+ SUPER SPICY CHEESE:
- Has another less expensive recipe (see below).
- You can sell:
* SPICY CHEESE for 250 G.
* NOOK GRASS for 600 G.

- CURSED SHIELDS -
-------------------
~ Two shields are cursed.
+ The only purpose for the RUINOUS SHIELD is to make the METAL KING SHIELD.
- The RUINOUS SHIELD is cursed.
* You can purify it in the ALCHEMY POT by adding SAINT'S ASHES.
- If Hero, Yangus or Angelo is equipped with it:
* It cannot be removed, so you'll have to go to a church for the wearer to
be purified.
* While equipped, the damage from FIZZ, SIZZ, CRACK, BANG, AND WHOOSH type
spells is INCREASED!
+ The only use for the THANATOS SHIELD is to make the GODDESS SHIELD.
- THANATOS SHIELD is also cursed.
* It too can be purified with SAINT'S ASHES.
- While equipped, the wearer cannot act in the first turn of a battle.
* The ONLY way to remove it is to go to a church for the wearer to
be purified.
- If you are patient, you'll find one later in the game.
* As soon as you get it, use it to make the Goddess Shield (for the recipe,
press [Ctrl F] and look for "Goddess").
